CineTV Contest: Beaches (1988)
La amistad no siempre es color de rosa todo el tiempo, de hecho las amistades fuertes son las que son capaces de atravesar la adversidad y seguir adelante, los seres humanos no somos perfectos así que siempre vamos a cometer errores, pero cuando una amistad es sincera puede llegar a ser un vínculo inquebrantable, cuando pienso en una película sobre la amigas llega de inmediato a mi mente “Beaches” de 1988, protagonizada por Bette Midler en el papel de C.C. Bloom y por Bárbara Hershey en el papel Hillary Whitney, estas amigas tan diferentes en personalidad y entorno social establecen una amistad por 30 años y en donde obviamente tuvieron altas y bajas pero el amor de amigas siempre triunfó.
Friendship is not always rosy all the time, in fact strong friendships are those that are capable of going through adversity and moving forward, human beings are not perfect so we will always make mistakes, but when a friendship is sincere can be an unbreakable bond, when I think of a movie about friends, “Beaches” from 1988 immediately comes to mind, starring Bette Midler in the role of C.C. Bloom and by Bárbara Hershey in the role of Hillary Whitney, these friends, so different in personality and social environment, establish a friendship for 30 years and where they obviously had ups and downs but the love of friends always triumphed.
Eternamente amigas/ Beaches (1988)
Ellas se conocen cuando eran niñas en una playa turística, C.C. tiene dotes para el baile y el canto así que es una niña que busca siempre demostrar su talento teniendo una personalidad extrovertida y ella viene de un entorno social un poco difícil, en cambio Hillary es todo lo contrario, ella es proviene de un entrono adinerado y es muy calmada y hasta tímida. Aquí debo hacer una alerta de spoiler porque no puedo hablar de lo significativa de la película sin contar el desenlace, pues resulta que cuando todo parecía ir relativamente bien y ambas estaban casadas, estas se divorcian, pero además de eso Hillary tiene una hija, Hillary enferma y de inmediato C.C. acude a ser su apoyo, ellas pasan un tiempo en la casa de playa hasta que un dia Hillary fallece, dejando a su mejor amiga a cargo de la custodia de su hija, hay muchos más detalles respecto a esto, pero lo que me parece importante recalcar es la confianza que sentían las amigas entre sí, una confianza tan genuina y un amor tan puro que solo juntas pudieron afrontar la enfermedad que no tenia cura, Hillary a pesar de que en un principio siente celos de que C.C. se haya convertido en la mejor amiga de su pequeña hija, ella sabe que solo podría confiar su pequeña a su mejor amiga C.C.

Para mi los amigos son la familia que escogemos, son personas que sin tener un vínculo sanguíneo nos aman y comparten nuestras vidas con honestidad y de forma desinteresada, el que tiene un verdadero amigo tiene un tesoro, yo como madre entiendo perfectamente el sentido de la película, una mejor amiga no tiene por qué ser igual a mi, puede ser distinta en cuanto a gustos o personalidad, pero si comparte mis valores entonces la voy a querer mucho y voy a confiar plenamente en esta persona hasta para cuidar a mi hijo, entiendo muy bien porque Hillary decidió dejar a su hija con su mejor amiga , ella sabía que podría morir en paz sabiendo que su hija estaría bien al lado de C.C y eso es algo muy importante y obviamente mueve muchos sentimientos.
For me, friends are the family we choose, they are people who, without having a blood relationship, love us and share our lives honestly and selflessly, the person who has a true friend has a treasure, as a mother I perfectly understand the meaning of the movie, a best friend does not have to be the same as me, she can be different in terms of tastes or personality, but if she shares my values then I will love her very much and I will fully trust this person even to take care of my son I understand very well why Hillary decided to leave her daughter with her best friend. She knew that she could die in peace knowing that her daughter would be well by C.C.'s side and that is something very important and obviously moves many feelings.
