Spring flood | POBphotocontest New Round: WATER

Hello, friends.
The theme of this week's POBphotocontest, dear @friendlymoose, announced water.
Well, we have plenty of water at this time of year. The first wave of spring floods is occurring on Siberian rivers.

At the beginning of the week, I was driving from the city of Tomsk and passed through several rivers, all of them were full-flowing. I had to cover about 700 kilometers. Having traveled about half the way, I stopped in front of the bridge over the Uryup River to stretch my legs a little.

In summer, the Uryup is a rather shallow, slow and narrow river. But now not only was the river bed full of muddy water, water had also filled the low-lying areas of the bank, and the current in the river was unusually fast.

The administrative border between the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Kemerovo Region runs along the Uryup River. Stopping in front of the river, I walked across the bridge to stretch my legs and took some photos of the surrounding area.

You can get from Tomsk to Abakan in several ways: you can drive along federal highways, but then the journey becomes about 850 kilometers, and the federal highways are filled with trucks, so you often have to drive along them slower than you would like. You can also drive along local roads, but then you will have to drive about 40 kilometers on a road without asphalt, but this route is more than a hundred kilometers shorter and the roads are usually quite free of cars. A bonus when traveling along the second route is the wonderful views of the surrounding nature that open from the car window. As you probably guessed, I often choose the second route.
