I imagined that all artworks have some fantasy vibe. And so, I made my own artwork base on fantasy characters or creatures.

This is a blind cyclops. He lost his eye once in a battle. Due to that fact, it enhances his sense of smell and hearing. That way he could still manage to sense anything if he is in danger. He is now on his way to compete in the battle arena in RADA QUEST.✨

Without further ado, join me walk through the process of creation and hope you have fun as the art progress from the start to finish.

Digital Art Process

As always, I started with a sketch for the pose and composition of the character. 🙂 Rough sketch is where I explore the character's facial expression and vibe.

In the next image, I do the line art. I missed that feeling of traditional pencil sketch and I feel it in this line drawing here so I made some hatchings to it.😁

In here, I do a grayscale method. It's like shading your sketch to add some depth to it.

The next image, I added the base color. 😁 I did that by adding a layer on top of the grayscale and set to multiply.

To lighten it up add a layer, set to overlay and fill in a color light yellow orange. And also I start to add the rough colors for the background in a layer at the bottom of the character.

I polished the background first and start to render the face of the character. I added some saliva around his teeth.

Then render the body and armor. I also add multiply shadow in his body.

Next image, is where I fully render and adjust the colors and increase some brightness to the character.

Lastly, I add some paper texture and set it to divide blend mode and finished the illustration. I also put it in a card border to make it stylish see image below.👇

I'm happy with the result.😌 It really captures the emotion and pose. I definitely love this fantasy creature card illustration. I hope you like it😁
