Visiting the Sixth Edition of Matsucon
On Saturday 21st September visit the new edition of the great geek event in the city of Barquisimeto.
El sábado 21 de septiembre visita la nueva edición del gran evento geek en la ciudad de Barquisimeto.
A new edition of the Matsucon takes place on September 21st and 22nd at the event hall of the Crepuscular Shopping Centre. This venue has become the meeting point for cosplayers and Matsucon participants.
The event was scheduled for last August, but due to a blackout that affected the whole country, it had to be rescheduled and now the big party for lovers of anime, video games, K Pop and everything related to Geek culture is taking place.
I attended on Saturday afternoon, although the doors of the event are open from 10am, where the organizers have tickets for sale and put the wristband for everyone to access.
Una nueva edición de la Matsucon se realiza los días 21 y 22 de septiembre en el salón de eventos del Centro Comercial Crepuscular. Este lugar se ha convertido en el punto de encuentro de cosplayers y participantes de la Matsucon.
El evento estaba programado para el pasado mes de agosto, pero debido a un apagón que afectó a todo el país, tuvo que ser reprogramado y ahora se está llevando a cabo la gran fiesta para los amantes del anime, los videojuegos, el K Pop y todo lo relacionado con la cultura Geek.
Yo asistí el sábado por la tarde, aunque las puertas del evento están abiertas desde las 10 de la mañana, donde los organizadores tienen entradas a la venta y ponen la pulsera para que todo el mundo pueda acceder.

The activities are for the whole family to enjoy, so there were people of all ages. Children, young people and adults in a smaller environment with different attractions. The area has large windows with beautiful views of the city and lets in lots of natural light. The spaces are spacious, so people can move around comfortably.
Several commercial brands and local entrepreneurs were present with a stand. T-shirts, mugs, necklaces, rings, accessories, posters, cards and video games were on sale. There was everything for those who wanted to buy something. The T-shirts with prints of K Pop groups, which are very popular all over the world, caught my attention.
Las actividades son para disfrutar en familia, por lo que había gente de todas las edades. Niños, jóvenes y adultos en un entorno más reducido con diferentes atracciones. La zona tiene grandes ventanales con hermosas vistas de la ciudad y deja entrar mucha luz natural. Los espacios son amplios, para que la gente pueda moverse cómodamente.
Varias marcas comerciales y empresarios locales estuvieron presentes con un stand. Se vendían camisetas, tazas, collares, anillos, accesorios, carteles, tarjetas y videojuegos. Había de todo para quienes quisieran comprar algo. Me llamaron la atención las camisetas con estampados de los grupos de K Pop, muy populares en todo el mundo.

I loved a Spiderman mask they had for sale. It had a sensor in the mouth area to doctor the voice. It cost 40 dollars. There were also wigs for cosplayers. Everyone was doing well, and visitors crowded around to ask prices and buy products.
Most had signs with QR codes or bank details so they could pay. Others even had their debit card swipe device.
Me encantaba una máscara de Spiderman que tenían a la venta. Tenía un sensor en la zona de la boca para adulterar la voz. Costaba 40 dólares. También había pelucas para los que hacían sus cosplays. A todos les iba bien, y los visitantes se agolpaban para preguntar precios y comprar productos.
La mayoría tenían anuncios con códigos QR o datos bancarios para poder pagar. Otros incluso tenían su dispositivo para pasar la tarjeta de débito.

There was an area with tables to compare drinks or food and the public could spend the whole day in the Matsucon. There wasn't a moment when they didn't have something to do. Although I only planned to stay for a couple of hours because I was not in good health, I ended up staying for about four hours. I was able to take a lot of pictures, but I missed the one of a couple of guest cosplayers who were busy judging one of the contests.
Musical performances, audience participation and product giveaways every few minutes. Rebyday, well known in the cosplay scene in the region and organiser of the Matsucon, hosted the event. I couldn't talk to her because she was busy with the animation and working out details with her staff.
No podía faltar una zona con mesas para comparar bebidas o comida y el publico poder pasar todo el día en el Matsucon. No había momento en que no tuviera algo en que entretenerse. Aunque sólo pensaba quedarme un par de horas porque no me encontraba bien de salud, acabé quedándome unas cuatro horas. Pude hacer muchas fotos, pero me perdí la de un par de cosplayers invitados que estaban ocupados juzgando uno de los concursos.
Espectáculos musicales, participación del público y sorteos de productos cada pocos minutos. Rebyday, muy conocida en la escena cosplay de la región y organizadora de la Matsucon, fue la anfitriona del evento. No pude hablar con ella porque estaba ocupada con la animación y resolviendo detalles con su staff.

There was the video game area, where a Super Smash Bros tournament was played in the morning and in the afternoon visitors came to spend some fun time playing their favourite video games. The Kangaroo company, well known in the region, set up several gaming units.
Famous cosplayers included Maru Hatsume, Vixiemoon, bbcreamux and Kamochi. The streamer Exe was also invited. Several of them were part of the jury for the cosplay catwalk on Saturday. I couldn't stay until the end because it was too late, so I don't know who would win the cash prize reserved for first place and the two cosplay wigs for second and third place.
Estaba la zona de videojuegos, donde por la mañana se jugó un torneo de Super Smash Bros y por la tarde los visitantes acudieron a pasar un rato divertido con sus videojuegos favoritos. La empresa Canguro , muy conocida en la región, instaló varias unidades de juego.
Entre los cosplayers famosos estaban Maru Hatsume, Vixiemoon, bbcreamux y Kamochi. También se invitó al streamer Exe. Varios de ellos formaron parte del jurado de la pasarela de cosplay del sábado. No pude quedarme hasta el final porque era demasiado tarde, así que no sé quién ganaría el premio en metálico reservado para el primer puesto y las dos pelucas de cosplay para el segundo y tercer puesto.

Many cosplayers attended to show off their costumes. Lots of creativity in their cosplay costumes made by the cosplayers themselves. Lots of photos, the attendees wanted their souvenir by taking photos with these cosplay artists. And they were all delighted to have their photos taken, individually and in groups. The public's affection makes them feel good and that their cosplaying is worthwhile.
I liked several cosplay. Mazinger Z reminded me of my childhood, with that self-made costume and that he was a cosplayer from the Portuguese state and had to leave before dark in order to catch the transport to his city.
Muchos cosplayers asistieron para mostrar sus trajes. Mucha creatividad en sus trajes de cosplay hechos por los propios cosplayers. Muchas fotos, los asistentes querian su recuerdo tomandose fotos con estos artistas del cosplay. Y todos ellos estaban encantados de que les hicieran fotos, individualmente y en grupo. El cariño del público les hace sentir bien y que su trabajo haciendo cosplay merece la pena.
Me gustaron varios cosplay. Mazinger Z me recordó a mi infancia, con ese disfraz hecho por él mismo y que era un cosplayer del estado portuguésa y tenía que irse antes de que oscureciera para poder coger el transporte a su ciudad.

I saw several of the cosplayers I have photographed at other events. The one from La Casa de Papel is a very well known gentleman in the local cosplay world and he looked very happy to participate in the event.
I took as many photos as I could and I hope you like the selection for this post. I will try to attend on Sunday 22nd, although it's not for sure.

Vi a varios de los cosplayers que he fotografiado en otros eventos. El de la Casa de Papel es un señor muy conocido en el mundo del cosplay local y se le veía muy contento de participar en el evento.
Hice todas las fotos que pude y espero que os guste la selección para este post. Intentaré asistir el domingo 22, aunque no es seguro.

Cuanto trabajo en el vestuario, es fabuloso!! Tanto color y creatividad me encanta, realmente iría para apreciar en persona tanta imaginación.
Esa foto es un traje de Mazinger Z??? Me encantaba cuando era niña.
La verdad mucha organización y despliegue de talento, muy bueno el evento y además lo disfrutaste. Uno sale de la rutina y eso hace bien.

Hubo uno de El Santo el enmascarado de plata. Recuerdo ver peliculas de El Santo y leer fotonovelas , uuuff, que viejo estoy
