A weekend of children's joy
Hello everyone and hello to all members of the Weekend Experiences community. I hope you have a great and free weekend. π
There is something special about free weekends. They give meaning to an overly busy life that passes by faster and faster, overcrowded with daily work tasks.
I like to spend my weekends off mostly hanging out with the kids. A month ago in my city, the Belgrade Family Days event was held, so that weekend there were a lot of activities dedicated to children.
It was raining on Saturday, but that didn't stop us from going to the city center and seeing what was going on.
On the wet streets, animators entertained the children passing by with their performances. The rain didn't stop them from being part of this event either.
There was a lot of music that could be heard from all sides. My younger daughter is a fan of folk dance so we stayed a while to watch the performance of the cultural and artistic society, which played folk dances from all over Serbia.
We also listened to the children's choir, which brought a lot of positive energy to the people with its gentle voices.
While listening to them, I felt both happiness and sadness at the same time. Happiness, because of all the children in this world who grow up with their parents, and sadness because of the recent tragedy that happened in my city when a boy killed his friends in school. Many parents lost their children that day and I still feel great sadness when I think about it and the compassion I feel for them. That's why this family weekend event both makes me happy and sad.
But life must go on. I looked at my son who was jumping with a lot of joy, in the rain, and I felt grateful.
As part of the festival, free creative workshops were organized for children, and my son wanted to try his hand at sculpting and archaeology. At first he joined small sculptors who made artistic masterpieces from clay.
He made a mug with a lid and was very proud of his work.
He then entered the sand pool and joined the little archaeologists who were curiously digging for treasure.
After half an hour of digging, my son unearthed an interesting mysterious object from ancient times.
As I mentioned, the festival lasted the whole weekend, so we also spent Sunday there. It didn't rain on Sunday, so we visited the zoo because tickets were 50% cheaper as part of the festival.
We hang out a little with animals.
The encounter with the deer was especially interesting. It was amazing to see its great horns so close.
My son likes cheetahs the most.
But he also couldn't wait to see the lion, elephant and other animals...
After visiting the zoo, we walked around the city a little more. There were again children's choirs as well as many sports activities.
You could buy a lot of interesting products at street stands or eat something tasty and traditional.
The Belgrade Family Days festival is an event that gave many parents the opportunity to bond with their children and participate in creative activities with them. At the end of the weekend, I was happy that we found time to have some fun and promised myself that I would try to do it more often.
Thank you very much for reading.
The images and writing are original and mine.
Greetings!

So many things to see and do on your outing out. You captured the zoo animals perfectly and I love all the little pull up shops on the streets :)
Yes, there were a lot of interesting things to see, we didn't manage to visit everything, but we had a lot of fun π
Wow, it's a nice place that children will surely enjoy :) And I will enjoy myself there for sure; everyone seems enjoying the place and the activities :)
Hey nice to see you here, I hope you are well. It was indeed a cool event, and my son and I both had fun.π
It would be really a nice experience to walk on wet path and seeing the artist performing art.
Events worth visiting are often held in my city and everyone is welcome π
