Freelancer or traditional work? which is better? | LOH #199 contest week
A warm greeting to all the ladies in the community, today I feel a little less lost but admitting that I need more willpower for everything I want, today's question really is a good one:
Based on your own job hunting and work experiences, which do you prefer, working from home as a freelancer, or working outside the home where you get stable monthly pay? Why?
I have worked both ways. This year, was the year in which I most set out to get a job remotely, however there is a lot of competition but it is possible. Really as a freelancer it is a risk that we must keep in mind and be willing to take because one day you can make three times more than in a traditional job but on other occasions you can have a bad month and here lies the importance of the organization and administration of our time and money, but this option also allows you better benefits such as personal growth, in addition to carrying out other activities.
I currently do a mix of the two, I quite like having my time and being able to do work from home but there is a point where I need social interaction, I thought I could live peacefully without having to spend so much time with other people but I realize that when I start to isolate myself socially, I also stop doing other activities like exercising, going out to get some sun, I even drink little water and more things, so, when I take jobs that involve moving to a specific place and doing physical activities, I feel much better, it is like recovering a bit of happiness and strength. However, there is a limitation which is money, usually these types of jobs are adapted to salaries and payments are mostly made on a specific date, having to wait, although it is quite certain, many times the salaries do not meet our expectations and limit our purchasing power.
I like how I am now, doing a bit of both. For example, in my case, I work two or even three days a week in a traditional way and the rest of the days I can do freelance work if I have any. This way I keep a bit of a balance with my life, and honestly I try to be grateful every day for this opportunity to be able to do both things because I know it is not easy.
Work at home is so comfortable and less stress
indeed!!!!!

I agree that freelancing provides us the ease of home but it isolates us socially too. It's good to know that you have both the jobs.
I am curious to know what kind of a traditional job you do that allows you to take these many days off. I mean 3 to 4 days a week
I am a brand promoter, usually the days that I am required to be active are from Thursday to Sunday, which are the days when people start to go out. My duties are not many, it is practically like being an image of the brands but always showing the product and talking about it if someone asks you something. I am currently working with wines, so I move from restaurant to restaurant on the days that I am required, and it is only a few hours.
I see 👍
I admit enjoying the stable and consistency the employment as a nurse and fitting in some freelance whether it'd be other healthcare work or the flexibility of Hive being the closest thing to it. It has been the best combination for me to be in both.
❤️
It's nice! Balance, the best of two worlds
You have more time to do freelancing with your work schedule. Back when I was working abroad, I worked 6 times a week and did some online jobs, like writing articles here on Hive and posting on social media platforms. It's quite tiring to balance everything, to be honest, .but a rewarding job..
You are looking good and seem comfortable with whatever you are doing..

I used to work like that! I'm abroad soooo it's pretty tired!!!!! While I was working 6 times a week I used to post every single day, that allow me to save so money and after 18 months I said noooo more!!!! and I started to look for other options!! That wasn't healthy, my under eyes were almost blaacckkkkk working +12hours sometimes
Oh wow!! I think I'll also grab a traditional job that grant me a 3-4 days off, if not so I don't think I can cope woth stress. Glad you have both work dr enjoy ☺️
Yes, in the past I worked 6 times a week for over 12 hours, so yes, a lot of stress, now I'm more comfortable !!!
