My entry for the PhotoFeed Contest — Street Photography Round 105

The street, in the broadest sense of the word, or rather: public space, has increasingly become an option for informal vendors of all kinds and merchandise, driven by hard economic needs. In general, humble people —older adults, young people, even children, men or women— who cannot afford to rent a place and set up their own little corner, kiosk or whatever, to sell the most dissimilar products. They have relegated the markets or formal establishments, and invade everything, without order or measure, in the greatest precariousness. From what I have seen in photos and news, this is how it is in many countries. Here are some recent photos of the reality of the center of my city, Cumaná (Venezuela).

The photos were taken on February 18, 2025 and have not been edited, trying to show as much reality as possible.

Street vendors and street markets are often sites of local cultural experiences. No travel is complete without visiting these street markets and shopping for the native trinkets

Certainly, they are places where people's daily cultural communication flows. Thanks for your interesting comment, @yugadi. Best regards.
