RE: Qurator's Mischievous Mondays | The Aging Step

I imagine a reality where each step accelerates aging. Oh, it would be terrible. It would probably be a world overwhelmed with disabled people, with atrophied legs being the main problem. This problem would start at birth. Parents would prevent their babies from walking. It is even possible that the world's population would lose the ability to walk over time. Crawling would be the most viable form of locomotion for children. Imagining my life in the midst of this reality is initially terrifying. I shudder just to imagine it. If it were inevitable, skateboarding would be my tool for locomotion for short distances. Constant leg exercises to prevent muscle deterioration would be another priority. Being able to travel long distances would be with a car or some other more specific vehicle. Life would be difficult, but I would avoid unnecessary movements related to walking. The world would be slower for everyone. Simple activities like sweeping a house or even having to leave the house to buy bread would be a major obstacle. It is possible for people's houses to take on the appearance of a dwarf's house, solving everything sitting down or crawling through the hallways, avoiding getting up so as not to walk involuntarily.
