Aurora In the Mountain Shadows | LMAC Collage FreeStyle No. 80

Each week, the LMAC Community run by @shaka holds a collage contest round for its members to participate. In the Community, you'll discover a variety of themed contest entries submitted for consideration in the contest. Hopefuls anxiously await result indicating where their creative collage scenes will be chosen for the final round of competition. If you'd like to participate, just visit the LMAC Community account here for details on the latest contest.

The LMAC Community also offers an opportunity for members to create "freestyle" collage themes and post to the Community. In the freestyle option, you have more freedom to design your creations without having to incorporate the weekly contest photo. You still, however, have rules in which you must abide by when posting to the Community.

For my Freestyle Collage No. 80, my theme is emerald all around.

For some reason, the color green flashed before me all day. Was it a sign of good fortune to come, or just that my next project would reflect an abundance of it. I decided that good fortune wasn't quite close to me as I would hope. So my next move was to design a green collage themed scene.

I feel as though I accomplished that in my freestyle "Aurora In the Shadows". I chose to name the piece Aurora because I also chose the borealis as my background. And of course, the color was green. I love the different shades of emerald as they collide then separate.

The lovely female to depict "Aurora" is powerful as she towers over the landscape. She emerges from the shadows to watch over the land. Inhabitants trek through the mountains to bring her a sacrifice of which she is grateful for their dedication. In return, she blesses them with the power presented by the glass amulet. It controls the borealis and harnesses it magical qualities that nourishes the land.

In preparing my theme, I located a beautiful and ethereal borealis. Next, I discovered the female image.
