Behind Time (Poem) | A Mixed Media Art Project

BEHIND TIME

Terra-cotta leaves of time
rustle and whisper my name
a bygone era left behind
summer's green shades trapped by frame.

Into the shadows nature recedes
having once flourished
now ticked away by time's withering deeds.

Neither pride nor glory shall fade
beyond the chain's unseen bond
ever basking in the glorious shade
until the labored breath of dawn.

Behind the cloudy pendulum of shame
lies a melody of joy and despair.
It's a time honored myth captured in a frame
waffling in and out if I dare.

I know not the ties that bind in this game
for you see in the end
time will reveal all in the pockets of fame.

So, I wait.

My project is centered around the idea of time, so I chose a timepiece that resembled an antique clock. This image I retrieved from the stable diffusion program, StarryAI. I love the intricate dollie cutouts in between the numbers on the dial. Other images I chose to blend with the clock include my pure fractals I designed in Apophysis 7X, the advanced fractal rendering program and an abstract image I designed in Bomomo.

The final image was a free-sourced photo of a female hiding with only one eye exposed. I felt this image would be perfect to portray someone hiding and waiting on time to pass. I have no idea why she's hiding or what she's waiting for. But the theme intrigued me.

StarryAI Text input: "A patchwork alien clock."

The clock and the color green reminded me of a poem, which I wrote many years ago

Time is ephemeral, but green gives you hope
the hope of life in the leaves of every plant
.

The poem goes on, but that's what I remember.

I loved the image how you were able to combine the clock and the green hope.

A working vacation as a family reunion is enjoyable, hectic, and tiring. I'm in recuperation mode this week hoping not to get sick. I did have my mask in a crowd of family members whom I haven't seen in two years.

The last line said it all, just give it time and everything will take its shape.
The poem just reminded me of what my mom will always tell us "Just allow time to do its work" and time will definitely do its work.

Cool content friend.
