Death In Paradise | nftshowroom X alienarthive SKULL ART CHALLENGE (Audio Visual NFT Minted)

After discovering that NFT Showroom partnered with Alien Art Hive for a SKULL ART CHALLENGE and Tokenized my initial Skull design, I decided to participate again. According to the post, you can join in by:
- make art incorporating a skull (or skeleton);
- mint it on: https://nftshowroom.com;
- make a blog post about your art and link to your minted piece in Alien Art Hive Community; and
- use "nftshowroom" in your tags.
According to the challenge post, NFTShowroom will feature all the SKULL ART minted on the NFTShowroom home page / twitter, and Alien Art Hive will be curating participants' blog posts. The challenge is ongoing and will continue until the end of March.

Below is my second Skull Art project:
Jacklyn watched with half-closed eyes as cool mist waffled in on the late summer breeze through the window. The lure of the sea. She inhaled deeply and snuggled close to the shawl, basking in the idea that she'd shed her troubles and finally arrived in Paradise.
Thoughts turned to earlier in the day.
"Will Mr. Vorheys be joining you on this trip?" the young front desk clerk quipped, then flashed a wide smile while studying his monitor. The brief, devilish glance he shot across the counter caught her off guard.
A shiver accompanied by a stab of fear rose up that would, in former conversations, evoke a tirade. But not today, she promised herself, as a lump in her throat slowly dissolved. She merely returned the smile and responded, "it's complicated."
Were it not for the kind, elderly gentleman standing close admiring her summer attire, she would have forgotten her receipt and room key.
The breeze filled her suite, replacing ominous thoughts with pleasing anticipations of a new beginning. Later, a tour of the island and evening walk on the beach rounded out her schedule for day one.
Images from the remote section of the island tour crowded Jacklyn's thoughts as a sudden gust of wind caught her flowing swimwear cover and lifted it above her head. From behind, a hand tugged at her outfit, caught the tail end and pulled it back into place.
Startled, Jacklyn swung around.
[to be continued]
In this current skull art design, I veered toward the sea for inspiration. My skull lurks deep within the dark waters surrounded by beautiful coral, but manifests its true self to unsuspecting vacationers who believe they're enjoying a view through a harmless aquarium display. For one vacationer, the sight conjured up memories she'd worked hard to suppress.
Below is my NFTShowroom Minted design:
Name: Death In Paradise
Date Minted: 2/26/2025
Link: Death In Paradise
Number Minted: 10
Cost: 5 Hive/each
My approach to the design was to utilize the stable diffusion program, StarryAI, to retrieve the skull, waterfall, and skull tree images. I've found success with this program in achieving my vision of the images I require to complete a project.
The light blue flowing sea scroll served as the background of my scene to provide a watery, flowing texture. I love how the background came together as I duplicated it, then colorized one in a slate hue. The vibes of the entire scene felt as if peering through a glass enclosure or an aquarium.

I utilized Canva, my design program, to blend the different type images. Below are my steps in which I begin with a blank, white canvas, then added layers of elements, removing backgrounds, resizing, colorizing, and repositioning items as needed.

Below are the remaining images I included in my design. My pure fractals I designed in the advanced fractal rendering program, Apophysis 7X, added the red hue to simulate blood dripping from the skull's face.

Below is the still version.
Adding animation from Deep Dream Generator gave the skull life. Next I returned to Canva and added red lightning as a screen effect.
Next, I took the animated skull project to PhotoMosh and applied the Filter (Melt), then uploaded a free sound clip of from UppBeat Evil Laughter - Male by Dan Barracuda. A fit perfectly for the laughing skull.
Still wasn't finished. I returned to Canva to try the download in the appropriate size to fit PeakD and NFTShowroom requirements. This stage of the design is always more difficult given the size restraints of the final image. Numerous attempts to download with different sizes can be a bit taxing.
I did discover that the more animation you add, the larger the file size.
Below is the animated version I minted on NFTShowroom:
