Fun in the Desert | Let's Make A Collage Round 219 (Entry #4)
Hello LMAC and Hive members. @shaka, will hold a monthly contest with participants having the ability to submit multiple entries during that month for consideration. If you'd like to join in this monthly round for October, visit: Let's Make a Collage - A Contest for All Creatives on Hive - Round 219 - ✨100 HIVE in the Prize Pool!.
I wanted to share with you my Entry #4 collage for LMAC Round 219.
My theme centered around a a group of oddly different people and animals congregating at a watering hole in the desert. Over the far horizon lies torment in the form of a sandstorm and lightning. Although the skyline is a beautiful orange hue that looks peaceful, rumblings tell of trouble just behind the cacti. All who dwell in the desert gather for a much needed respite. The coolness of the spring provides a chance to rest and relax for a moment. Natural enemies come together for a common purpose, placing their predatory instincts aside. They just desire a moment's rest and sanctuary.
In preparing my theme, I incorporated the LMAC Round 219 original contest image, which is a requirement and contains a water element, into a desert landscape. The contest image provided the nourishment for those gathering there. Another LMAC contest image depicting a desert was included.
Other images I included images I felt would be fitting for a desert scene seeking water. I distorted some of the images to create a somewhat alien theme. Adding my pure fractals I created in Apophysis 7X for the lightning and seat for the cat felt like unnatural elements.

I then utilized Canva to blend the different type images. Below are my steps in which I begin with a blank, white canvas, then added layers of elements, removing backgrounds, duplicating, colorizing, resizing, and repositioning items as needed incorporating the tools at my disposal in my Annual Pro Membership Subscription.

Oh my heavens...looks like an inferno, almost hellish. Really powerful suggestion.
I love the sanctuary motif. That orange cat is more appropriately placed than you might imagine. It is feral--so-called, but it has found refuge in my neighborhood for so many years that I don't know if it can be called feral. At this point it has been cared for by at least one other home besides ours. We moved, but still return to feed it.
Anyway, really nice collage with an inspirational theme.
Yes, not a safe place over the horizon. So they gather and forget for a time about the hardships that await. Thanks so much for the history of the feral cat. It indeed found sanctuary in your neighborhood. I've always wondered about it and the how the twig came to rest on the head.
Thanks so much for your visit. I appreciate the kind compliment for my theme. Take care and have a good weekend.
The desert is like a place of danger, I can see that lady buried halfway in the sands, and those other creatures 😊
Fortunately, the female and other creatures are on the safe side of the desert away from harm. I appreciate you taking time to stop by and view my project. Take care.
I love the way you blend all the different components into one beautiful whole, with lots of detail.
Yes, a lot of images blended together to make the scene. An aspect of the project that takes time is gathering and documenting the sources for the images to present in my post. I'm pleased you liked how the completed project turned out. Thanks for stopping by.
Take care and have a good rest of your weekend.

I love that striking background color, and the central figure.-
Nicely done. A striking collage with the look of danger in the background and a clear image of the woman half buried safely in the sand.
I'm pleased you were able to stop by and view my collage. The contrast between both sides is evident. I appreciate your engagement and support. Take care.
