Gifts of the Unusual Kind | Let's Make A Collage Round 219 (Entry #1)
Hello all LMAC and Hive members. I'm back participating in the LMAC collage contests now that a new format has been adopted. @shaka will hold a monthly contest with participants having the ability to submit multiple entries during that month for consideration. The LMAC Community run by @shaka holds a fun collage contest for its members where any Hive member can participate. If you'd like to join in at any time, just visit the LMAC Community account here and follow the rules of the contest for details on the latest round.
The LMAC Community also offers an opportunity for members to create and post in the Community "freestyle" collage themes. In the freestyle option, more freedom is allowed to design your creations without having to incorporate the weekly contest photo. However, contest rules still apply.

I wanted to share with you my Entry #1 collage for the LMAC Round 219. My theme is unusual gifts. When I think of gifts, first thing that comes to mind is the gift of consciousness. In understanding this gift, one need only be mindful of one's surroundings to interpret what is sorely needed by others to ease their comfort and attend to their depravity.
In preparing the theme, my approach was to search for an abstract image to represent consciousness. I feel that I accomplished this with the black and white face. The additional images I included consisted of animals who benefited from the gifts. Of course, the green pasture landscape was provided by the LMAC contest image for Round 219.

I then utilized Canva to blend the different type images. Below are my steps in which I begin with a blank, white canvas, then added layers of elements, removing backgrounds, resizing, and repositioning items as needed incorporating the tools at my disposal in my Annual Pro Membership Subscription.

CONTEST RULES

| 5. By submitting your contribution you agree that your artwork remains public domain and that it can be copied, modified and distributed, even for commercial purposes, without requiring further permission. | |

BEER.When I saw the image only for a few seconds, I ignored the colored stripes but also the small animals that are near that strip, I only saw the main part of the image, and in those seconds it seemed to me that it was like seeing a very well done mural.

Nice work, it almost looks like some street art on the side of a building inside of the light colored center of the collage. Interesting how you blended all of the wildlife in there, and the face kind of draws you in until you notice all the other details. Very cool!

This is wonderful. It gives the effect of blended awareness. Our minds don't separate ideas and impressions into distinct categories. We blend it all together and make some sense of it. Our impression of experience. I like especially the dripping effect (did you intend it to look like dripping). A really great piece.
Hello @agmoore. Thanks for visiting and leaving such a lovely compliment for my entry. I wanted to do something completely different and a bit abstract, especially with the skyline background.
I was waiting for a viewer to notice the fruits dripping down from the consciousness of man into the hand's palm to manifest into good manna for the animals of the earth. I feel my pure circle fractals represented the fruits well. The brown icicles mix with the mist in the LMAC contest photo to produce pure water for the animals and fowl. All represent good gifts from above.

Very good interpretation of gifts @justclickindiva . You are right. We must observe our surroundings and give thanks for everything that surrounds us. This brings wonderful experiences; among them, you cultivate happiness. People notice what they don't have, what they lack. However, there are minimal things that we lack or that we notice and sometimes we feel uncomfortable because we don't have them. I think that by changing our consciousness we change the world. Happy day.
We certainly can change the world @katleya with our consciousness pointed in the right direction to do good. Each of us has gifts we can impart and leave a lasting impression upon our society. If only we could all strive to do so.
