The prompt "consciousness" for this week's consideration for the ZAPFIC Monday challenge presented the opportunity to explore a person's state of mind and awareness of his or her surroundings and the details of a situation when awake. I share here my flash fiction in the format of a 240-word story, whose format was created by @felt.buzz.
My story is below:
Without hesitation, Ned broke through the tape. No one would deny him access.
Grabbing his arm and pulling him close, his wife Carly whispered before losing consciousness, "Adam loosened the rope".
He rose and searched for her bitter partner.
