When Others Fail to Listen | ZAPFIC50 MONDAY (2/5/24) | Prompt: infection (infección)
It's time for the ZAPFIC50 Monday challenge. This challenge by @felt-buzz was presented to the Freewriters Community members in a format of a flash fiction story that is told in exactly 50 words. This week's "infection" provided the opportunity to use the word as intended; a noun that describes some type of illness or injury that becomes inflamed for various reasons. Some infections may become life-threatening if not treated. I share with you a story of one man's courage to speak out.
My story is below:
Strangers rode into his village. Despite raised lumps and discolored skin, elders welcomed them.
Frightened, Mizkelo recoiled having encountered such illness during his travels. Grasping his wife's arm, they stepped away.
He issued a futile warning to elders, then departed.
Others who escaped safely informed Mizkelo of their village's annihilation.

La "infección" de esta semana nos brindó la oportunidad de utilizar la palabra como es debido: un sustantivo que describe algún tipo de enfermedad o lesión que se inflama por diversas razones. Algunas infecciones pueden llegar a ser mortales si no se tratan. Comparto con ustedes la historia del valor de un hombre para hablar.
A continuación mi historia.
Cuando los demás no escuchan
Unos forasteros llegaron a caballo a su aldea. A pesar de los bultos y la piel descolorida, los ancianos les dieron la bienvenida.
Asustado, Mizkelo retrocedió tras haberse enfrentado a semejante enfermedad durante sus viajes. Agarrado del brazo de su mujer, se alejó.
Lanzó una inútil advertencia a los ancianos y se marchó.
Otros que escaparon sanos y salvos informaron a Mizkelo de la aniquilación de su aldea.

That was sure a deadly infection to have wiped out an entire village with it's inhabitants.

In the village life one has to take care of one's health a lot because everywhere the soil is similar and there are many such things which can have a lot of bad effects on our health.

Yes, it did. Perhaps if the elders would have taken more precaution, more people could have been saved, especially since Mizkelo already warned them about the disease from his previous travels.
