It is so cold over here in ibadan.

It rained heavily yesternight over here in Ibadan,Nigeria and the weather was very cold up to this morning, I mistakenly slept off without putting on my clothes and I had to wake up in the midnight to cover myself with a blanket as I could't bare it anymore. This weather makes me lazy at times and alwways makes me just want to be on my bed and sleep for many hours.

I have been shivering vigorously and feeling very cold , which is the only reason I don't really like the cold weather . Infact, my red hoodie has been the one I run to during this period.

We Nigerians always complain , when it is hot "we sat the heat is too much" and when it cold "we say the weather is too cold" obviously both weather conditions has it's own merit and demerit. For instance , I can say for sure that the people staying in Lagos,most especially those staying at the island won't really enjoy this season and the weather conditions as they have been faced with flooding and extreme weather conditions. Having said all this, I will still choose and prefer the cold weather to the hot weather condition or dry season. Let me explain why.

We live close to the road and if you visit our house during dry seasons it is always very dusty and covered with sand , and that normally causes us cough and catarrh and sometimes makes us sneeze. Sneezing always affects me alot as I tend to remove tears from my eyes at times when I sneeze.

During dry seasons and hot weather conditions there is always the introduction of heat rashes which always affects my skin and makes me start itching my body, i have to start applying dusting powder and other cream to cure this skin condition.

Also ,when the weather is too hot, it always not conducive and favourable , and you just have to sit outside of your house to get fresh air, the price of petrol is also hectic now in Nigeria but at times when the weather is too hot you just have to look for ways to buy this same petrol and put on your generator to reduce the heat in the house which doesn't normally happens when the weather is cold.

I generally just love and prefer cold weather conditions . We make use of boreholes in our house and during rainy seasons and cold weather the water level in the borehole increases. This increased availability of water reduces the time and effort needed for accessing it, and you don't need to frequently pump or lift water from the ground.

I may not speak for everyone, but personally, I love cold weather and would choose to live in it over hot weather any day.
