LOH Contest #202 || Conversación de Calidad
Sin duda alguna la comunicación es una herramienta fundamental en nuestra vida diaria y muy relevante al momento de establecer vínculos y relaciones interpersonales, bien sean relaciones familiares, laborales, de amistad o de pareja. En mi opinión personal, la calidad de la conversación o comunicación puede determinar el éxito o fracaso de cualquier relación.
Undoubtedly, communication is a fundamental tool in our daily life and very relevant at the moment of establishing bonds and interpersonal relationships, whether they are family, work, friendship or couple relationships. In my personal opinion, the quality of the conversation or communication can determine the success or failure of any relationship.
Personalmente me atrevo a definir una conversación de calidad como aquella conversación en la que los participantes pueden expresar libremente, de una manera educada y respetuosa, sus puntos de vista y escuchar activamente la opinión de los demás.
Hoy en día, a pesar de tantos avances tecnológicos, lograr una comunicación efectiva sigue siendo un reto. Por esta razón considero que la comunicación es una habilidad humana que debemos desarrollar y fortalecer cada día. Para ello debemos ser plenamente conscientes de que la manera como nos comunicamos refleja el tipo de personas que somos.
Personally, I would define a quality conversation as one in which participants can freely express, in a polite and respectful manner, their points of view and actively listen to the opinions of others.
Today, despite so many technological advances, achieving effective communication remains a challenge. For this reason, I believe that communication is a human skill that we must develop and strengthen every day. To do so, we must be fully aware that the way we communicate reflects the kind of people we are.
Algunos elementos que considero esenciales para lograr una conversación de calidad son la empatía, la sinceridad, el respeto y la escucha activa. Es muy importante intentar empatizar con quien nos habla, tratar de entender y respetar su punto de vista, aún cuando no estemos de acuerdo. De igual modo, hablar con sinceridad y escuchar activamente, prestando atención a lo que la otra persona quiere expresar, mostrando respeto y consideración.
Some elements that I consider essential to achieve a quality conversation are empathy, sincerity, respect and active listening. It is very important to try to empathize with the person speaking to us, to try to understand and respect his or her point of view, even when we do not agree. Likewise, speak sincerely and listen actively, paying attention to what the other person wants to express, showing respect and consideration.
En mi vida personal, he tenido que aprender a mejorar mis habilidades comunicativas para poder mejorar mis relaciones personales. Un caso muy particular, es la comunicación con mis hijos adolescentes. Comunicarse con un adolescente no es igual a comunicarse con un niño, por ello la conversación debe adaptarse a la persona con quien se habla. A medida que mis hijos van creciendo mi comunicación con ellos ha tenido que cambiar, comprendiendo que son jóvenes con criterio propio, con ideas y pensamientos nuevos que debo escuchar y respetar con empatía y consideración para que nuestra relación se fortalezca y no se deteriore.
In my personal life, I have had to learn to improve my communication skills in order to improve my personal relationships. A very particular case is communication with my teenage children. Communicating with a teenager is not the same as communicating with a child, so the conversation must be adapted to the person you are talking to. As my children grow up, my communication with them has had to change, understanding that they are young people with their own criteria, with new ideas and thoughts that I must listen to and respect with empathy and consideration so that our relationship is strengthened and does not deteriorate.
En resumen, si queremos tener relaciones sanas, fuertes y duraderas tenemos que esforzarnos por mejorar nuestra manera de comunicarnos con las personas. Tratar de ser un poco más empáticos, sinceros, respetuosos y considerados. Esta ha sido mi participación en el concurso semanal de la comunidad. Aprovecho la oportunidad para felicitar a todo el equipo de Ladies of Hive por su aniversario, gracias por hacer de esta comunidad el lugar de las Damas de Hive.

In short, if we want to have healthy, strong and- long lasting----relationships we have to- make an-effort to improve the way we communicate with people. Trying to be a little more empathetic, sincere, respectful and-thoughtful. This has been my participation in the weekly community contest. My son is fastky approaching his teen age, and it fears me a little. I am worried about how to deal with him. Tackling a teenager isn't easy and that surely needs an excellent ability of conversation.
I agree to you on the point that quality conversation is one in which both the parties are free to express themselves without fear of being judged.
