LOH Contest #206|| My most impressive trip
Saludos estimadas Damas de Hive, es un bonito placer volver a saludarles en una nueva participación para el concurso semanal de la comunidad.
En esta ocasión estaré respondiendo a la pregunta #1 de las tres preguntas que se seleccionaron para esta semana, ya que me pareció interesantes y una buena oportunidad para reflexionar al respecto.
Greetings dear Ladies of Hive, it is a nice pleasure to greet you again in a new participation for the weekly community contest.
This time I will be answering question #1 of the three questions that were selected for this week, since I found it interesting and a good opportunity to reflect on the

Desde niña me ha gustado mucho viajar y conocer lugares nuevos, pero también nuevas costumbres, culturas y tradiciones. En Venezuela he visitado varias ciudades y pueblos, aún me faltan muchos por conocer y espero, algún día, poder completar mi lista de deseos de lugares en Venezuela. No obstante, el viaje más impactante que he hecho fue el viaje de migración hacia Perú. Este ha sido el viaje más largo por carretera que he hecho en mi vida, y aunque me encanta viajar por carretera, este viaje fue un poco traumático por demasiadas razones.
Since I was a child I have loved traveling and getting to know new places, but also new customs, cultures and traditions. In Venezuela I have visited several cities and towns, I still have many more to visit and I hope, someday, to be able to complete my wish list of places in Venezuela. However, the most impressive trip I have made was the migration trip to Peru. This was the longest road trip I have ever taken in my life, and although I love road travel, this trip was a bit traumatic for too many reasons.
Sin embargo, debo decir que agradezco la experiencia vivida porque todo salió bien finalmente y estuvimos sanos y protegidos durante toda la travesía. Las situaciones más duras fueron cada cruce de frontera en los diferentes países que debíamos atravesar para llegar a nuestro destino. Las colas para sellar pasaporte eran exageradamente largas de incluso días, expuestos al frío inclemente. Felizmente yo logré pasar en menor tiempo pues viajaba con mis hijos, que eran menores para ese entonces.
En cada parada nos encontrábamos con personas con historias muy tristes, de todo lo que sufrían durante al viaje: robos, estafas, malos tratos entre muchas otras cosas. Mis hijos se quedaron impactados al ver tanta gente durmiendo en las fronteras encima de sus equipajes. Escuchamos historias de bebés y personas mayores que habían fallecido por hipotermia en esos lugares.
However, I must say that I am grateful for the experience because everything went well in the end and we were healthy and protected during the entire journey. The hardest situations were each border crossing in the different countries we had to go through to reach our destination. The queues for passport stamping were exaggeratedly long, even days long, exposed to the bitter cold. Fortunately I managed to get through in less time because I was traveling with my children, who were minors at the time.
At each stop we met people with very sad stories of everything they suffered during the trip: robberies, scams, mistreatment and many other things. My children were shocked to see so many people sleeping at the borders on top of their luggage. We heard stories of babies and elderly people who had died of hypothermia in those places.
Bueno con todo esto me he referido al trayecto más que al destino, pero también puedo decir que conocimos lugares muy bonitos en Colombia y Ecuador mientras íbamos de paso. Y por supuesto durante toda la estadía en la ciudad de Lima conocimos muchos lugares impresionantes y hermosos. Aprendimos mucho sobre otras culturas, degustamos una gastronomía diferente y lo más importante es que aprendimos a valorar nuestras raíces y todo lo hermoso que hay en nuestro país.
Well with all this I have referred to the journey rather than the destination, but I can also say that we met very nice places in Colombia and Ecuador while we were passing through. And of course during the whole stay in the city of Lima we met many impressive and beautiful places. We learned a lot about other cultures, tasted a different gastronomy and the most important thing is that we learned to value our roots and everything beautiful in our country.

I have heard a lot about Peru, especially about its culture and exotic food/cuisine. Unfortunately, scammers are almost everywhere nowadays. Despite some bad circumstances, I am glad everything went well in the end...
