A few years ago…

Roofing didn’t look difficult and I did have most of July off for vacation so it was the best time to fix the leaky Garage roof on a stretch of sunny weather. Better than doing it in the rainy parts of the year.

After a few tips from the Hardware store representative and my list of materials is filled out, we completed the job in under a week. It wasn’t without a few issues. My younger son fell 8 feet down through a rotten part of the roof except for a few scrapes and a bruise he was okay. I was somewhat sunburnt, with a stiff back but rewarded by long warm baths and having saved myself over $800.

Electrical was a different adventure.⚡️ Lol!

Looking forward to this.

I loved your idea of adding the box of bandages to the shot! 😁

Thanks @thekittygirl
The bandages will remind me that every time I decide on a Do-It-Yourself project, somewhere there's a small price to pay and a project may not be as easy as it looks.

My Trades person could do it in little over a day where it took us 5 days. I took a lot of breaks.

That Electrical adventure?

I did a favor for my Roommate’s parents in switching out a faulty light switch in their Condominium dining room. The problem was their Breaker panel to the light switch was in the spare unused bedroom that was packed to the ceiling with boxes full of stuff. I would take us half the day to carve a path to the panel IF I could find room to put the ‘Stuff’, and I thought I was a hoarder packrat.

I first pulled switch assembly out of it’s wall box and taped the switches in the open position. I taped up the screw driver except for the very tip. Taped up and the needle-nose pliers, donned surgical gloves on and I managed to do the replacement LIVE! I slowly switched one wire over at a time into their respective places on the new switch and made sure they were connected snug before pushing the new switch back into the wall box. Voila! Done!

The scary part was the week after that, my older son being a 7 year old at the time, was caught by my Roommate trying to put my screw driver into a live wall outlet! OMG. ⚡️😱

There’s a moral to this story.
