Festivals
Hello friends,
I hope you all are doing well.
Dashahra
Dashahra is an important festival celebrated in India. It is observed on the last day of Navratri and is celebrated in various parts of the country in different ways. Dashahra is also known as Vijayadashami, which means "the tenth day of victory."
The main story behind this festival is linked to the epic Ramayana. On this day, Lord Rama defeated the demon king Ravana of Lanka and rescued Sita Mata from his captivity. Hence, Dashahra symbolizes the victory of good over evil. On Dashahra, a symbolic effigy of Ravana is made and then burned, signifying the destruction of evil.
In other regions, Dashahra is celebrated along with the nine-day Navratri festival, which involves worshipping Goddess Durga and celebrating the triumph of Lord Ram. Different places have their own unique way of commemorating Dashahra, such as Durga Puja, Kullu Dashahra, Mysore Dashahra, and many others.
Dashahra is a time for people to express joy in various forms, enjoy sweets, spend time with family and friends, and exchange good wishes. It is a festival that is celebrated with enthusiasm and unity, spreading the message of truth, goodness, and love.
