CRUSHING MARCH
My siblings and I
The month of March came with a lot for me. I finally got to visit home after two years, and I got to visit my father's village for the first time. Although it was because of my grandmother's burial, at least I got to see my family and also meet my extended family for the first time. A lot of the things that happened in March were like miracles, especially because my family was not really financially buoyant for the burial of my grandmother. But being that she lived over 100 years old, they thought it best to give her a befitting burial. How the finances for the burial came is still a mystery to date.
For my dad, the moment he invited his colleagues at work for his mother's burial he started receiving a lot of monetary gifts which weren't small at all. According to him the least amount he got was 100,000 naira, he couldn't believe that his colleagues would turn up financially to that extent. And then he also got a lot of financial support from friends which made me wonder if those sending him money were experiencing the same hard economy we are all experiencing… for me, I had already given up on attending the burial because I was not having the finances either and wouldn't want to be a burden to my parents or anyone for that matter. Two days to the burial I got a job to build security around an already existing website that had been rampaged by hackers.
Part of my Extended family
The $100 I got from the job alongside the little cash I had with me was enough to cover transportation to and fro for my sister and me. I also did some spending in between but in all the occasion was a success. But apart from the occasion, the month of March came with a lot of workload that's still piling up to date and even made me sick at one point. Although the workload came with money, I wish it was just the money that came 😂. Overall I would say it was a fair month for me not just because of the money, but also because I crushed some of my goals for the month.
I wanted to read a book, I wrote in one of my posts the struggles I've been facing with reading and thus wanted that to change, and I was able to make it change with the help of a friend who was an accountability partner for me and helped me to not just start, but also finish the book I was reading. I was so excited to have started and finished a book in one week, even though I intentionally refused to show my accountability partner how happy I was lol. I was also able to start one of my major goals for the month which was to take hive to the world. I planned on onboarding twenty people this year, and Last month I successfully onboarded three. This new month is also coming with a lot of goals and dreams, but I'm sure it's nothing I can not handle.

Looks like your March wasn’t so bad. That’s actually really nice.
We just things get better in April.
Your grandma lived over 100 years?
Wow, anyway my condolences to you
Thank you
You’re welcome
We are glad all your goals are coming along well, especially your onboarding goal. We hope that you get to have a better April and enjoy all that you couldn’t enjoy in March.
Wow your march was okay, I love the fact that your grandma lived well.
Yeah, it was a celebration of life
March was indeed good to you although you were grieving, my condolences for the loss of your grandma. Meeting family members after a long time comes with so much excitement and fun and I'm sure you experienced all that.
Being able to cut off the procrastination of reading is quite commendable, just wish I could find a way around it. Lol

I had help with an accountability partner... If you find one, it will help
Condolences to you and your family on the loss of your grandmother. I am glad that the events worked out in a way that you could make it. I have missed many a funeral thanks to work pressures or money issues and it stays in back of your mind as a guilty feeling, especially as you grow older.
Love your siblings pic! Why is everyone wearing purple? Is it a norm during burial to wear that?
Kudos on onboarding people to Hive. I have yet to be successful with that. I guess first I need to fully appreciate all aspects of it before I can be successful selling the idea to others. I do hope I can onboard some people to this wonderful community.
Cheers from a fellow #dreemerforlife
Here in Nigeria, be bereaved families would choose a colour that bonds them together in the ceremony if they choose not to wear black. Especially because we are celebrating my grandmother's long life on earth.
For the onboarding side, it's not easy at all, because it requires a lot of training so I don't end up onboarding people who are will spoil my reputation on hive
😂
If only wishes were horses.
I'm glad you guys we're able to put your grandma to rest.
