I COULD EAT THIS A THOUSAND TIMES
Please don't mind my topic, I couldn't just think of a better title for this post. However the title is probably 75% true because even though I can't say I have a particular best food, I have my best in every category I can think of. In Nigeria foods are majorly classified into two, one of which is swallow and the other doesn't really have a name or maybe I just don't know the name. But when you talk about rice beans and anything you can think of, it is probably in that category. And when you talk about swallow, you're definitely talking about cassava products with soup which can be very nice delicacies. At least I can attest to the fact that our dishes are respected and loved internationally.
When it comes to swallow, I would always go for pounded yam and Egusi soup especially with goat meat and Assorted (animal intestines…) a lot of people usually puke at the sound of animal intestines in food especially non Africans, and I think that's why we just call it Assorted meat but then what I love the most about it is that they are always scattered and so many inside the soup and are also usually very cheap to get. I grew up being taught that one of the things that makes us strong as Africans is the swallow we eat, I do not know how true it is, but our swallows are pretty strong meals of which some people who eat it for the first time find it difficult using the loo.
As much as I love to swallow a lot and would feel like passing out if I do not eat it in a week, I think there is a delicacy I would always prefer to swallow. It's usually more like an add on in a lot of food as it can barely satisfy on its own. I could eat it all day without getting tired. I love plantain, I love it so much that I can spend heavily on it and not regret it even though it gets me broke. There was a time in Nigeria when roasted plantains were sold for 50 naira per one, I would get up to 1 thousand naira of roasted plantains and finish it in a go. I love plantain with groundnut, I love plantain with rice, I love unripe plantains in pepper soup, I love plantain in beans and I've even taken plantain with bread before.
I don't know why I love plain this much, and for those who do not know what plantain looks like, you can easily mistake it for banana, but bananas are mostly very soft and can be eaten very raw, getting the complete taste. Plantains can be eaten raw, but it tastes differently and even better being cooked or fried. Unripe plantains are very healthy containing lots of calcium while ripe plantains are very sweet and sweeter when they are roasted or fried. They can also be cooked depending on the use for them. At work I buy plantains 80% of the time I go out for lunch, especially the roasted plantains, but sometimes I just stop because it's too much. lol.

Plantain can really go with so many other dishes
If I may wish to ask you are you trying to say pounded yam is your favourite dish? Because no matter what as human we must have what we liked and what we don't like you can't tell me that you don't have a favourite dish or let's assume pounded yam and egusi is your favourite but to some is not like me so people eat food because hunger while some eat because they want there choice like me if I go to restaurant I hardly eat swallow because I know I have swallow at home lols you are seeing it ba but if you see I eat swallow this days is because of how the generation we find ourselves so you have to be specific about your favourite dish me my favourite dish is rice and stew and salad if I have the money I go with chicken but if but now to eat the chicken problem to buy food in the near by restaurant self because of the situation you buy what you will eat and be satisfied
