IT WAS A SINGLE BLOODBATH
Episode 3 of the hive learners contest for week 122 got me to remember a funny but scary event that happened to me some years back when I still lived with my parents. It was a really scary experience, but I like to see it as funny because it was funny to me. So funny that it didn't make sense at the beginning because I could not believe what I saw staring at me. Remember when I said I almost burst into laughter on seeing a gun pointed at me, this case was worse because I literally laughed for the first two minutes until I saw oh boy this thing is no longer funny. To date, I still wonder what would have happened to me if I was actually attacked being the only one at home. The worst was that nobody came back until about 4 hours later.
It was one of those times when I came home from school for the holidays during my freshman year, my younger sister was still in boarding school, my parents had gone to work and my other siblings were in school, leaving me alone at home. I cleaned the whole house and decided to take a nap after taking my bath and eating. Since the house was big and my room was upstairs, it wouldn't be advisable for me to sleep in my room in case I needed to answer the doorbell. So I decided to take a nap in the living room. After some time I started feeling uncomfortable for no reason and opened my eyes only to see a snake staring at me from where I was sleeping.
It felt unreal for the first two minutes, I found myself just lying and looking at the snake with so much amazement. At one point it was funny to me trying to figure out what a snake would be doing in my living room. It wasn't until the snake hissed at me that I was like okay this is no joke, I'm actually in trouble right now. Since the snake was in front of me, I figured it wouldn't be wise to move forward. So I made a backflip and went for the nearest weapon of mass destruction I could come across. It was one of the legs of a centre table I was going to arrange back when I woke up. I observed the snake was struggling to move because of the tile, and I figured it was the perfect opportunity to strike before it reached the centre rug.

It was clear that the snake was going to charge at me, but the tile was disrupting its movement. So instead I charged at it and went directly for the head. The snake was black, Long and thin, but it was not hard for me to miss. I ensured my first strike did fatal damage and the third strike finally killed it. I remember feeling like a hero having killed my first snake, so I put the dead snake at the front of the door of my house so my family would see my heroism when they returned. Indeed they were happy I killed it, but mostly happy I saw it because if it entered the house and no one knew, it could cause a lot of damage. This was my first kill, but being that our house was built in a developing area, it was common to see those snakes more often. After that day I killed three more before going back to school and for each, I felt more like a hero 😂.
Ahhh you actually went for killing it, when me I would have found a way to run first 😂
That was bold of you o
I wonder how it got in when the house is tiled, tiles are always hard for them to crawl on.
Thank goodness it didn't get any worse than that, the part where it was funny for you got me laughing though.
I've always imagined killing a snake in my head, and life presented me with one in real life, it was so unreal
Lol interesting!
You have mind o, some no so brave people like myself would run for their lives first before thinking about others, killing it was the best decision to protect others because if it hides in the house, that's worst.
Yes indeed, It was good I was the one at home and not my siblings or mum
You have mind o, if it's another person they will have scream. But I wonder how the snake entered your parlour.
That's a mystery no one knows... The most important thing is that I killed it
Oh boy!
Even when I boast always that I don't fear snake, there are times I imagine some scenarios, fear go just catch me.
I have keeeeeed snakes many times but each of those encounters, a little jot of fear creeped in first 😂
Thank God I didn't freak out ooo.. anything that makes me freak out can give me heart attack 😂
You tried.
Asweeeaar
hehe, snake turned my man to a Ninja warrior, lol. It was wise that you were calm and sharp after sighting the it. I equally find snakes to be scary creatures.
Omo, man must survive either way lol
The snakebuster 😁😁🤣
Congratulations and thank God you woke up when you had that nudge to wake up
Ah! See how back-flipping helped you, something I don't encourage people to do for fear of hurting themselves. I think when we come face to face with danger, instinctively we seem to know what to do immediately. I am glad you killed that snake.
#dreemerforlife
That's very brave of you because my first move would've been to run away 😂
I just hate snakes so much, only the sight of it irks me
#dreemport
I'm even surprised how I did not panic lol
Snakes might actually pass as the animal that I fear and dislike the most, I cannot even wait, let alone be as brave as you to kill it. Where do I even want to order the mind from? lol.
