IT'S SCARY

At the moment, I would say I'm scared, like literally scared and it's all because of the insecurity in my country. I wish I could say it was safe, but the truth is that I would be lying. There are places in my neighborhood that you don't walk in, whether in the day, or at night. You would always have to watch your back and if you ever find yourself in those places, especially with anything valuable, you should just pray that you don't get mobbed. And even if you have nothing valuable you should also pray you don't take a beating or worse die for carrying nothing. Yes it's as bad as that. Today I had to move with my heart in my hands and it wasn't funny.

In order to serve my country, there are some documents I need to put in place, and currently there's a deadline to get those documents, else the government would render my years of schooling useless. To get those documents would require that I come to one of the government offices in my state which is the only place I can do it, and since there's a deadline that office is always crowded. I decided to leave my house at 4:00 am in the morning with my heart in my hands just so I could get to the office, but on getting there, I saw a crowd who were even earlier than I was. Some slept under the flyover bridge close to the office just so they could come around 1:30 am.

A lot of people were rubbed in the process of trying to come early and here I am planning on doing the same just so I could get those documents by Friday tomorrow. Although I'm not planning on sleeping under the flyover bridge, I booked a motel just opposite the office and I plan on leaving as early as 1:00 am in the morning so I can make the first 10. If you think it's scary, you're definitely right because it is damn scary. The thought of it alone is scary but it's what I have to do so I could get this over and done with once and for all. I plan on not carrying anything valuable but with little money Incase I meet any unfortunate circumstances. The thing about these touts that rob people around that area (which by the way has high criminal activity) is that once they find you got nothing, they would beat the hell out of you in anger. So if you meet them, just prepare to get robbed.
