LEARNING IS A MUST
Every time I find myself frolicking around I remind myself of why I must stop, I remind myself of where I want to be, my goals, my vision, and my mission. Sincerely speaking it's been hard work always trying to learn something new, especially in the area I've chosen to grow in. I would love to identify myself as a business developer and strategist sometime in the future, but this would mean I will need to be at least very good in certain skill sets and excellent in others. In the last 12 years, I've seen myself as a successful business developer and strategist, although I am just putting a tag to the name that is closest in meaning to everything a business developer and strategist is.

I've seen social media managers, graphics designers, web developers, business developers, project managers, and lastly business strategists. I've always envied their work but wish to be more. This would first mean I would need to learn skills that would make me attain proficiency in all these fields so that one day my value system in the business world would no longer be countable. Yes, I have big dreams, and these dreams form the very essence of my living. I've been pursuing them since I could remember having them. I started by learning videography because it was the only valuable skill at my disposal in my early teenage age.
The learning process of videography came naturally for me and I didn't need many lectures to attain excellence in it. Today I can hold a video camera with my eyes closed and this is not a bluff. I even talked about it yesterday in my post. After four years as a videographer, I started learning graphics design which did not sit well with me from the beginning. It took three years to finally get it right, I literally had to pause other aspects of my life which included work and family just to learn graphics design. I shared in my post some time ago how my dad was angry with me for over a year because I did not take the bank offer I had simply because I wanted to learn graphics design.

I turned down another opportunity to study hospitality in South Korea because I knew that was not what I wanted with my life even though my dad wanted me to go just so I could find an excuse to leave the country. But I refused because I knew I suck at graphic design and the only person that was so kind to teach me was being patient with me despite my flaws. I wasn't ready to throw all that away. After three years I was beginning to find my feet in graphics design and that was when I discovered the need to be a content creator. Knowing that this was a vital part of marketing I started learning how to write. I started out with content writing, then I moved to copywriting and sales writing. Technical writing was a bit tricky for me but I learned it all within three months because they all had elements of storytelling which made them easy to learn.
Another skill that came naturally to me was photography… Although photo editing is still a bit tricky, I know it's because I haven't fully put my interest in it. This year I want to learn web development alongside some core aspects of web design plus UIUX. Web development is really boring I must admit, so I try to learn on the job which makes it very difficult. Learning and practicing with a real-life task can be challenging especially because there is no room for mistakes, but every time I face these challenges I tell myself I'm up to the task.

One skill is actually enough to get you the money you need. Why don't you focus on one instead of moving from one to the other.
Well I'm not looking for money, or should I say looking for just money. What I'm aiming for is value, and that is not cheap. It requires a lot of processes in learning and mastery.
Nice, success in that.
You know what, I am still a master of many crafts and they all paying. I just make sure I don't lose focus because multi-tasking can be very demanding and stressful.
Yes it can be.... The hardest part is always staying focused
That's it.
You see that graphics design thing ehn, I've been longing to learn it like more than five years now but I couldn't get a teacher or maybe it's me that don't have money to learn it lol
You've trained yourself to learn things that will help you become a better person, keep up the good work.
You share a very motivational blog. You proved importance of continuous learning and skill development in order to achieve your target in various areas such as video graphy, graphic designing and content writing.
I'm glad you found it motivating. Thanks for stopping by
It was worth the opportunity cost and good to know you learned graphics in addition to content creation. We are mostly at risk of being swayed by other skills, making us mediocres in majority
Yeah right, the ability to keep on developing is what puts us at an advantage
It is a fact that every human being has a goal in life to be successful and if we learn from others in the process, it becomes much easier for us to succeed.
Yeah you are right, but not everytime we get to learn from others
You turned an opportunity to leave Nigeria?
Aww you must really love your motherland.
Anyway you are really doing well, equipping yourself with all these skills
I wish you the best
