MEMORIES I HOLD DEAR

(Edited)

I've been writing a lot about 2023, and that's because there are a lot of things to write about. Today I will be focusing on some memories that are very important to me. These memories among others made up my year and even though I'm not a picture person, I had to take some pictures just so I can look back on them someday and remember the point at which certain changes occurred in my life. Life they say is a journey with lots of stories to tell, it's not hard to believe that though I'm quite young, I already have a lot of stories to tell. So without further ado, here's a list of some of my favorite memories in 2023.

My first major act was with more than 5,000 people seated to watch which included some dignitaries of high political and traditional status. It was the period when my full acting potential was revealed, and if I must admit, I was as surprised as everyone about the things I could do on the Big stage. I've never been a person to have stage fright, but then again speaking and acting are totally two different things. Acting comes with a lot of emotions that are shown in voice, intonations, and body movement. I'm so glad that I was able to pull off something nice that gave me a valid recognition as an actor. I remember my legs shaking immediately when I stepped on stage 😂. But after that event, I got a really good gig from a producer to write a story and feature in a series I'm still working on. I got to feature in a major advert also, which is a big move for me in pursuing a career in the movie industry.

Second on my list is a memory that brings tears to my eyes. I sometimes still find it hard to believe that I'm fully a graduate after waiting 8 years for a 5-year course. At the beginning of the year, I never saw myself graduating in 2023, because of the major challenges I had with finance. It wasn't easy surviving without support from anywhere, but I'm so grateful to God that help came at a time when it was needed. I ran into debt trying to figure out a way out of the financial issues I needed to settle in school. But now everything is falling into place little by little and I'm grateful for this moment. I've finally left the four walls of the higher institution and so far it's been going well.

Last but not the list, though not my first day, but my first week at work. This came after I had gotten tired of trying to secure a job. I got the job I'm doing now which came as a blessing and I would say compensation for my suffering in school. Today I'm working with an oil company and I must say I'm very happy with my job. I've had opportunities come in the past but lost them because I was either still in a higher institution or didn't have a certificate. I had even given up on securing the one I'm doing now because one of the major requirements was an NYSC dispatch certification which I do not have as I've only just graduated and yet to go for service. When I was asked about my educational status, I told the truth hoping it was another failed attempt, and when I was asked why I applied regardless, I only said that I presumed they would accept competence over certifications which I very much possess. And like I hoped I was employed based on competence. With these, I can say 2023 was a fulfilling year, and I'm grateful to God for everything.
