MY AWKWARD GADGET

This is a quick story and one I don't like remembering. There have been two occasions in my life when my phone ringtone led me into trouble. Well, one wasn't all trouble but rather awkward. Nowadays, I just use default ringtones, not because I like them, but because it's been so long I thought about changing my ringtone. It's been so long since I sat down to change things like my Display picture on any social media account, or my lock screen picture on my phone. So yeah, I have not really had the time for all that stuff and since the default ringtone ain't that bad, I just go with the flow.

One time when I broke my phone screen in secondary school, I had to use a button phone for the main time and it just happened to be during my first term SS3 exams. My school has a clear rule that frowns against students using phones in school, but I was already used to breaking that rule until I started using a small phone. One thing I forgot to do in the small phone was reduce the ringtone volume, because I was used to my ringtone volume always being low. This was until I was busy writing in the exam hall, just about 20 minutes for the exam to end and luckily I was almost done when my phone started ringing loudly. It was a Nokia 3310.

10 marks was subtracted from my total score because of that incident giving me a “B” in a subject I knew very well. The next time I had a ringtone experience was when that same Nokia 3310 started ringing as I was trying to woo a girl in school. I was so embarrassed and started explaining that my real phone is under repair. And she didn't help matters, giving me the look of a liar that was caught. I took me a full term to finally prove to her that I wasn't lying and when she just started believing, she left my school.
