MY FAVORITE MOVIE

I'm a movie lover, even though I don't have time to watch movies nowadays. I currently have a long list of movies I have scheduled to watch when I have time, even though I know full well I wouldn't have the time 😂. If you follow my fiction stories you will notice I love action, science-fic, mystical, historical, and magical genres. I'm mostly captivated by how the storyline in these genres are even created, and nowadays I find myself creating my own fictions of them.

List of movies I'm planning on watching

I have also watched quite a lot of movies, but my favorite of them all is VIKINGS which tells the story of Ragnar Lothbrok an ordinary man who raised to fame because of his excellent war strategy skills. What got me attracted to the movie in 2019 was how he first dared to sail the Norway Sea, something no one in his community had ever thought about. At a point he was seen as a god, some called him a demi-god saying he came from the lineage of Odin who was the god of war.

Before I found the series, My best was Game Of Thrones, I loved it so much that after it ended, I was searching for something similar when I came across VIKINGS. Apart from the storyline and all, the movie came with a lot of life lessons and showed how a person could rise in the ranks and still fall if they lack discipline. It also showed that no matter what the prophecies spoke about the future of a person, the person could end up dying without attempting to achieve it.

List of movies I'm planning on watching

There were a lot of tragic experiences in the movie starting with the death of Ragnar Lothbrok himself, followed by the death of his supposed successor BJORN IRONSIDE. I call their death tragic but thrilling because they showed that no man is invisible. It was intriguing how the writer built the character of Ragnar and Bjorn to be seen even to the views as demi-gods, only to show at the end of the day that they are mere men. Another character that was intriguing for me was the character IVAR THE BONELESS (hated but intriguing personality). I call him the true son of his father Ragnar Lothbrok because even though he was a cripple, his War strategy skills couldn't be matched by even his father. For the purpose of those that have not watched the movie, I will not reveal more than these highlights so that if you wish, you can check it out yourself. I don't like spoilers, and I wouldn't want to be one too😜

Oh so I wasn’t the only one looking for more shows like GOT after it ended? Lol good to know.

Vikings is a great show as well. They took their time with it. I liked the Norse mythology in the Series plot. I like shows that talk about that. Talking about Odin, Valhalla and all.

I see you’re planning on watching she-hulk. The number of bad reviews I’ve seen about the movie makes me rethink my decision to go near it. I hope you’re enjoying it though.

I've heard some of those reviews too... But I like to judge for my self by watching it for more than just entertainment purpose

Lately I find it very difficult to watch movies Probably because of the economic pressure and the list of many things I need to do, in other to make ends meet...it was easier while I was younger

I can relate very well to that. RN it's hard enough to stay consistent with posting everyday talkless watching a movie

Hi @kilvnrex

The contest link you have provided and your blog post have nothing in common. You seemed to have provided the wrong contest link.

All social media sites (Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest etc) are not ORIGINAL sources of images. They are secondary sources of images and do not provide details of ownership and license details for verification. So citing those secondary sources for your blog posts is improper and will invite downvotes.

When you are writing a review or commentary about movies, and if you cannot find free images (usually it will be difficult) then the best way to handle it would be for you to rely on Fair Use doctrine, which allows you to use copyrighted images under certain circumstances.

You should then cite the original sources of the copyrighted images (where the details of the copyright owner and the license details are available) and include a Fair Use Notice at the end of your article to let the copyright owners know that you are using their images under the Fair Use doctrine. If you cannot find the original sources of the image, then it is best to use an image from Wikipedia and cite the wikipedia page for the source. In fact, usually you will find a public domain image in wikipedia and so the need to use the Fair Use Notice would not even arise.

In some jurisdiction like the US and the UK there are laws that provide that the copyright owner need to ask the infringing party to first take down the infriging image and can take action against an infringer only if the infringer refuses to do so. So it is common and prudent for the bloggers to provide their contact information in the Fair Use Notice.

Here is a draft of the Fair Use Notice that you can use freely:

Okay then thank you so much, I will make the above corrections right now. I've learned something about copyright notice through this comment. Thank you.

Excellent. One problem though.

The source should be

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Vikings_Title.png

and not

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/99/Vikings_Title.png.

The former provides details of copyright and its origins, the latter does not.

If you notice, Wikipedia itself knows the image is copyrighted although it doesn't know who the actual owner is. Since the image is not licensed to Wikipedia it is using it under Fair Use doctrine. In fact, Wikipedia goes on to give reasons to justify why its use is Fair Use by stating the (a) The Purpose of Use in the Article, (b) it is a Minimal Use and that (c) its use has no commercial gains for it.

By using the image link I have asked you to use, you are making it clear to your readers and the copyright owner that you are also following Wikipedia's route.
