NEVER PRAY FOR DISASTERS

Sometimes shit happens and there's absolutely nothing we can do about it. We do not pray for bad things to happen, but if a natural disaster or any kind of disaster should happen, the first thing any average human like me would do is escape for his life. Life is precious, and I'm quite certain no one would think about any personal belongings as far as life is concerned. I remember some years back I was in my second year in school and just started living off campus and on a fateful day I was cooking with a kerosene stove because my gas had finished. To date, I can't tell what really went wrong, all I knew was that immediately I lit up the match stick, there was fire everywhere.

At first, I froze, especially when I saw my leg on fire, but then again In split seconds, I was running outside knowing that if I spent another second in the kitchen I wouldn't make it out. Thankfully my neighbors were alert and immediately they saw me on fire, a guy who was washing his clothes that night poured soapy water on me to quench the fire. And the rest of my neighbors ensured the fire was put out before it escalated. Half of the kitchen was burnt in less than 3 minutes of the fire outbreak, but in relation to this post, I didn't even remember I had anything of importance until about 30 minutes later.

But coming to think of it again, if I was in my right senses (not on fire myself) I would have probably given the situation a more different approach. And considering I had the opportunity to pick just three things and run for my life, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up my mobile phone, my bag, and my box. My mobile phone is always either on my bed or charging when I'm not using it, and considering how important I would need it to make calls for help and assistance, withdraw and receive money, and access a lot of saved information. My phone would definitely be on my top list. Another reason I would take my phone again would be because my ATM card is inside my phone's pouch so I am always with it whenever I'm with my phone.

Another thing I can imagine myself doing is getting the school bag I placed just above my bed. That bag contains my PC and charger which is always inside the bag except I'm using it. And even when I'm using it, my bag is always close by. My PC contains office work that I can't access from anywhere else, so it's of top value. Immediately after that, I would be grabbing my box. I have just one box containing a few clothes and all my credentials. It's not heavy and very easy to move around. So it would be my phone In my pocket, bag on my back, and box in my hand and then I zoom off and cry later. Prayerfully such an experience would never happen to me amen.

THIS IS MY RESPONSE TO HIVE GHANA PROMPT FOR THE WEEK.

Sounds like a nice plan😄. These are really thoughtful things to carry in a crisis.

Truly, in case of real disasters, the last thing in anyone's mind is property, all a person scrambles for is his safety.

One time there was a fire incident in my neighborhood, both couple ran out of the house forgetting their young daughter that was asleep in the room until someone asked the whereabouts of the child. It was panic, I get. It's just one kind.

Yeah that's right... Not something anyone would wish on an enemy
