WACK DOCTORS

One issue I have with medical personnels in my part of the world, is the fact that they abuse drugs more than any other person alive. I say this because I've seen, Heard and experienced the wrong use of medications by these people. By abuse I do not mean them taking it, but rather how they wrongfully prescribe medications without carrying out the necessary test all in the name of experience. This singular act has led to the loss of life of people I have heard about and nearly cost the lives of both me and my loved ones I remember one time when my partner and I went to get some medications because she was having Stomach ache and other symptoms The doctors and nurses just concluded she was pregnant and were telling me congratulations meanwhile we both knew that it would be 99.9% impossible for her to be pregnant except maybe she has become another mary.

It was so sad that at the end of the day, they still ended up prescribing the wrong medication for her which made her grow worse. It turned out that she was just ovulating and her body was reacting in some way… We got to find this out after a proper counseling session with another medical professional and my partner did not need any medications but rather lots of rest of which she became fine at the end of the day but I ended up spending money for a medication she didn’t need. I was so pained because it was the second time that it repeated and we only went there because it was the closest we could find considering the emergency.

The one that happened to me was when I was still very much younger, I fell very ill and was rushed to the nearest medical facility my parents could come by only to be attended to by another wack doctor who just diagnosed without conducting any test. He ordered the nurse to give me a particular injection, and immediately I was given that injection. I couldn't feel my legs again. It was then they discovered the doctor had diagnosed wrongly, and not checked my previous health conditions before prescribing medication for me. My dad got so pised when he discovered the nurse added to the issue by giving me an overdose of the wrong prescription.

I just lay down and muttered as my mummy was shouting at the doctors and the doctor was trying to find who to put the blame on. I was bedridden for about a week before I started feeling my legs again and my parents vowed never to go back to that hospital again even if it’s an emergency. The next day a pregnant woman who my mum knew very well died in that same hospital because they gave her prescriptions that made her short of blood before delivery and didn’t bother to check her vitals before proceeding with the delivery. Both mother and child died that day because of the wrong medications. It’s so sad that this is something that happens over and over again and nothing is done about it.
