Introducing Myself + Splinterlands Art Contest Submission+ Capturing Rural Beauty
Hello everyone!
This is Karina Roy, a passionate artist, photographer, and jewelry/mockup designer. Art and creativity have always been my greatest strengths, and I enjoy capturing beauty through my camera lens and sketching unique designs.
How I Discovered Hive & Splinterlands
I first learned about the Hive blockchain through Splinterlands battles on Twitter. As I explored more, I was fascinated by the opportunities it offers to artists and gamers alike. The Splinterlands Art Contest inspired me to create something special, and today, I am thrilled to share my artwork with you!

Photos and Thoughts:
This photo captures a stunning silhouette of a budding plant against the backdrop of a warm, golden sunset. The soft, diffused light of the setting sun creates a peaceful atmosphere, highlighting the delicate curves and textures of the plant. The contrast between the sharp, dark foreground and the hazy, glowing sky adds depth to the composition. The blurred background with hints of greenery suggests a rural or natural setting, enhancing the sense of tranquility. The image beautifully portrays the transition of time, symbolizing growth, renewal, and the gentle embrace of nature’s cycle.
This photo showcases a close-up view of a citrus plant with young fruit beginning to form. The small, green, bulbous fruits are emerging from dried flower petals, marking the transition from blossom to fruit. The surrounding leaves are lush and vibrant, adding to the freshness of the scene. The soft, natural lighting enhances the rich green tones and delicate textures, making the image feel alive and full of growth. The background, slightly blurred, provides a natural depth, drawing attention to the intricate details of the plant. This image beautifully captures the early stages of fruit development and the beauty of nature’s life cycle.
This is a close-up macro shot of a fly resting on a leaf. The intricate details of the insect, including its segmented body, delicate wings, and large red compound eyes, are clearly visible. The leaf has a smooth, slightly glossy texture with visible veins running across it, and its greenish-brown hue contrasts beautifully with the fly. The background is blurred, drawing focus to the subject and creating a soft, natural feel. This image perfectly captures a small moment in nature, highlighting the beauty and detail of even the tiniest creatures.
This is a close-up shot of a plant featuring striking deep maroon, glossy leaves sprouting from the center. The leaves have a sleek, elongated shape with pointed tips and a prominent central vein. The contrast between the vibrant new leaves and the older, dust-covered greenish-gray leaves in the background adds depth to the image. The blurred backdrop emphasizes the sharpness and texture of the new growth, making it the focal point. This image beautifully captures the contrast between fresh, vibrant life and aging foliage in nature.
This is a close-up shot of a mustard flower in full bloom, with bright yellow petals standing out against a softly blurred background. The delicate petals and tiny buds on the slender green stem add to the charm of this simple yet beautiful plant. The shallow depth of field highlights the details of the flower while creating a dreamy effect with the surrounding foliage. This image captures the essence of nature’s vibrancy and the beauty of small wildflowers.
This is a close-up shot of a young jackfruit hanging from its tree. The fruit is in its early stages of growth, with a green, spiky, textured surface and a thick, sturdy stem connecting it to the tree. The background is softly blurred, featuring natural ground elements like soil, fallen leaves, and tree roots, adding to the organic feel of the image. The composition highlights the unique texture and form of the jackfruit, making it an interesting nature capture.
