Beer Saturday in Flagler Beach

Nothing like a beer on the beach for #beersaturday, right? This week, we went to my favorite place near home, Tortuga's restaurant and bar in Flagler Beach. And yes, it is right across highway A1A from the Atlantic ocean with a great view, especially from the second floor!

On this visit, I had one of my favorite local IPA's "Beach Hippie". It's made locally in Deland, Florida, just a few miles away.

It's an India Pale Ale, with a bit of fruity taste to it. Quite refreshing on a warm day, with a little extra kick at 7.1% ABV! They have a good variety of brews here, including several different types of Ale's so I am excited to try more.

I'm not normally one to take and post food pics, but the hot and spicy "Firecracker Shrimp Tacos" are simply amazing. Stuffed full of shrimp and flavor, these are my go to meal here.

And of course good atmosphere, with generally 70's - 90's rock playing. Outdoor seating either on the ground, building and umbrella shade, or up on the second floor balcony with an amazing view of the ocean.

Not quite an island, but definitely the island vibe! It's great fun to watch the surfers while having a beer or three. If you're in the Flagler Beach, or Daytona Beach area just south of here, be sure to give it a try.

Looks like a really cool place. I hope my wife and I get the chance to get near the ocean sometime in the near future.

Sun, Beach, Shrimp Tacos and a good IPA - a lot to like here.

My parents had a modular home in Flagler, could walk across A1A to the ocean then walk back and jump in the community fresh water pool. That was living.

Yes, a little too close to the ocean for when the hurricanes hit for my taste, but if had the funds, we would certainly buy a little beach house there for the kids to visit, for occasional use ourselves, and maybe rent out the rest of months. What a lovely, small, fairly quiet town, still in easy reach of the larger cities. Shhhh, don't tell anyone lol.
