Wolleh HIVERS! It's me again @ksunnixx. I want to share with y'all about an event I attended here in our school.

This happened after our Fourth Quarterly Assessment, this event was facilitated by YES-O.

DENR'S dalaw turo talks about the life of marine animals and the protected areas here in the Philippines.

First, they gave us a paper that we would answer, which served as a survey on how well we knew the protected areas. To be honest, I don't understand what's in the survey.

Then, they played three videos. After playing the video, they asked a question afterward on what we understood from that video. There's a question that really caught the attention of mine and it's What are we willing to do to protect our environment, the bodies of water and the marine animals. The first thing came to my mind was our research studies, I look at my friends @phoennix09 and @tvlipz02 if we're thinking the same thing since we are the researchers on that study (there are three of us is here in the community and the other two were Shawn and Steph whom we convinced to join here in the community) and yes confirmed, they also thought about it. So our study is about detecting eutrophication (too much nutrients in water).

In the middle of watching videos, they gave us snacks so that we are active in watching and answering the questions.

Me and @tvlipz02 are sharing food because shockingly there are more than 50 participants came which is good and Sharing is caring. ❣️

The DENR is starting to distribute a paper. It's the survey paper we answered in the first part to assess our current knowledge of the protected areas here in the Philippines.

After answering the survey, they are giving a souvenir I guess. Unfortunately, I didn't get one but it's okay!

I would like to thank @mholldy, one of the YES-O officers for encouraging us to participate in this event. Because of your encouragement I gained another knowledge about the importance of protecting the marine animals and the protected areas here in the Philippines, especially in Cebu.

What I have learned in DENR'S Dalaw Turo?

I learned that there are protected areas here in the Philippines where only researchers are allowed. Additionally,I discovered that the main cause of endangerment for marine animals is plastic pollution. It is crucial for us to take action and prevent the widespread of plastic pollution to protect our environment and the endangered marine animals

That's all for today, thank you for reading my blog!❤️

A great initiative from them as a student can also learn a lot from this. And it's wonderful that lots of people attended and listen to the speaker.

This event is critical for us students to understand what is going on in marine biology and how people deal with these types of situations. Future researchers can also gain valuable knowledge from informative events like this. Thank you for sharing!♥️

I like the seminar you attended Ma'am @ksunnixx which is about our biodiversity. I hope the DENR will also conduct the same seminar in our District.
