How I upgraded a project that I am proud of// LOH #193

What an interesting thing to be writing my first contest after my introductory post yesterday. Greetings to all amazing ladies in this community and beyond, hope am welcomed here😚😚. For today I will be writing on one of the contest topics.

So it was like a dream when I finally dropped pen after my last paper. In the year 2018, I got admitted into Ahmadu Bello university Zaria to study B.ed Language Arts. I was so excited and felt as if I have got to the moon, everything about life seems so simple and dexterous if I must testify. As a young lady I was busy telling friends and relations that I have gotten an admission into a well known school in Nigeria. I was busy preparing and looking towards my resumption, rejecting proposals of some men who came around me as a grown up girl of early twenties who is due for marriage.

I thought I had everything needed in life since I had my relations who will help in sponsoring my education. Lo and behold, it was done on me that the sound of bitter cola nut in the mouth is not the same as it's taste . When it was time for registration and payment of tuition fee all my relatives gave one excuse or the order I was left with no option than to cater for it with my parents. l have to track a long distance to school and track back home even though I was living with one of my aunty and was helping her in her store and some other domestic chores which I had just a little time to read when I am at school.

Things got worst on the year of my graduation because it was a three year programme. I was patiently rounding up my teaching practice when the news of corona virus came into the country and all schools were closed, we had to sit back at home with an unfinished project until the following year 2021. On the 4th of June 2021, I dropped my pen on my last paper, I stood up and looked around. It was like in a dream, I just noticed that I was shading tears, the world was just rotating with gentle bliss around me. I just felt as if I was being celebrated on a stage with a red carpet on the floor. I didn't notice the presence of my fellow students but the presence of the people celebrating my success.

It was indeed a miracle of which I have never felt that way in my life, even the time I got the admission into the school. I quietly went and submitted my script, went outside and what I was shouting and was saying I don't know but all I knew was that I was in the state of greatest enthusiasm.

I spent plenty off time as a student in college and found ways to pay my way too. A student's life isn't easy having dependents and inadequate time for studies, writing papers and exams. I can imagine how the Covid Shutdown could have put an irreparable end in your academic aspirations. But you did it @ladiz 👍.
