Making a skirt set, flower themed for Barbie (ENG/ESP)
Hello dear community, I hope you are well and have started a good week, I feel very grateful and excited with the invitation to participate in the NeedleWork Your Barbie contest.
Today I make my first entry with a set of skirt with faralao and an asymmetrical cut blouse inspired by the theme of flowers.
The Barbie that will do you the honor of presenting this beautiful outfit is a brunette Barbie named Elena, she is my favorite of the Barbies that my daughter has, I like how she highlights the colors with the tone of her skin, so this Barbie will be my model for my participations, I hope to be more than one participation, I love the contest and the theme.

Hola querida comunidad, espero que estén bien y hayan comenzado una buena semana, me siento muy agradecida y emocionada con la invitación a participar en el concurso NeedleWork Your Barbie.
El día de hoy hago mi primera entrada con un conjunto de falda con faralao y una blusa de corte asimétrico inspirado en el tema de las flores.
La Barbie que les va a hacer el honor de presentar este hermoso outfit es una Barbie morena de nombre Elena, es mi favorita de las Barbies que tiene mi hija, me gusta como le resaltan los colores con el tono de su piel, así que esta Barbie será mi modelo para mis participaciones, que espero sea más de una participación, me encanta el concurso y la temática.
Sin más preámbulos, espero que se animen y me acompañen con esta linda experiencia de la ropa de Elena para este concurso.
Las fotografías que verán a continuación, fueron tomadas con mi teléfono modelo TECNO SPARK GO 2024.
To start working with this project the first thing I did was to choose the Barbie, then some fabric scraps with a large flower print, I also chose a sky blue fabric that made a nice combination with the printed fabric and a very nice fuchsia fabric to highlight.
I also used the sewing machine, threads, needle, tape measure, scissors, magic zipper and a pencil.
Para empezar a trabajar con este proyecto lo primero que hice fue elegir la Barbie, luego unos retazos de tela con estampado de flores grandes, también elegí una tela en azul cielo que hacía linda combinación con la tela estampada y una tela fucsia muy linda para resaltar.
También utilice la máquina de coser, hilos, aguja, cinta métrica, tijera, cierre mágico y un lápiz.

The next thing I did was to bring in my Barbie model to take her measurements with the tape measure.

After taking Elena's measurements, I transferred the measurements to the floral fabric and drew the blouse design with the pencil, then cut it out to make the blouse.
Después de tomar las medidas de Elena, transferí las medidas a la tela floral y dibujé el diseño de la blusa con el lápiz, luego lo recorté para hacer la blusa.

I love to sew this kind of clothes so small, I felt like a child, it gave me so much nostalgia, I remembered how one of my sisters and I used to design clothes for the dolls, I always wanted a Barbie, but it was not easy to have one, luckily one of my older sisters started working and could buy me one, it was my only Barbie and it was a moment of so much illusion that stayed in my memory.
Me encanta coser este tipo de ropa tan pequeña, me sentía como una niña, me daba tanta nostalgia, recordaba como una de mis hermanas y yo diseñábamos ropa para las muñecas, yo siempre quise tener una Barbie, pero no era fácil tener una, por suerte una de mis hermanas mayores empezó a trabajar y pudo comprarme una, fue mi única Barbie y fue un momento de tanta ilusión que se quedó en mi memoria.

I wanted to give the skirt an elongated petal style, something with volume, I tried it on Barbie to see how the design looked on her and I loved it.
Quería darle a la falda un estilo de pétalo alargado, algo con volumen, se lo probé a Barbie para ver cómo le quedaba el diseño y me encantó.

I made a faralao that I always liked, because when my mom made dresses they were my favorite, they looked so pretty, it was like feeling like a princess from fairy tales.
Hice un faralao que siempre me gustó, porque cuando mi mamá hacía vestidos eran mis favoritos, se veían tan lindos, era como sentirse una princesa de cuentos de hadas.

After finishing the blouse and skirt, came the most exciting part and that is to create flowers, but the fuchsia fabric was not enough for several of the flowers I wanted to make, luckily looking in other boxes of scraps, I got a fuchsia satin fabric similar to the one I had chosen, with this one I managed to make all the flowers I had planned to do.
The flowers I made are made by cutting out several circles, then folded in half and that half is folded again, sew them with the needle and finish sewing joining the first petal with the last petal and close them are very nice, it is the first flower I do so I liked it so much that I came to mind many ideas to make new projects with them.
Después de terminar de hacer la blusa y la falda, venía la parte más emocionante y es crear flores, pero la tela fucsia no me alcanzo para varias de las flores que yo quería hacer, por suerte buscando en otras cajas de retazos, conseguí una tela en satén fucsia parecida a la que había elegido, con esta logre hacer todas las flores que tenía pensado hacer.
Las flores que hice se hacen recortando varios círculos, después se doblan por la mitad y esa mitad se vuelve a doblar, se cosen con la aguja y se termina de coser uniendo primer pétalo con el último pétalo y se cierran quedan muy bonitas, es la primera flor que hago así me gusto tanto que se me vino a la mente muchas ideas para hacer nuevos proyectos con ellas.

For this outfit I made a headband and a belt, I combined the headband with a blue flower, with the fabric I had left over, it looks beautiful.
Finishing all the accessories I just need to dress Elena and see how her clothes look, I felt like the little girl who played a lot with her dolls.
With all the excitement I dressed Barbie and she looks splendid, the colors make a perfect contrast with her skin.
Friends, I loved this project, I had a lot of fun, I relived special and important moments of life, remembering my childhood and being able to share with my daughter who loves her dolls as much as I do.
The truth is that many times we need to bring out that little boy or girl, to feel the beautiful and innocent illusion that many times we forget even with our children.
There are parents who forbid their children to play with their toys and they only do it because they do not want to see the toys thrown away.
this way of recreation in children is almost extinct, a child who plays like that with dolls and toys is not normal for many, but a telephone is, and it is necessary yes, but not for vices in children, I think it would be nice to rescue those old healthy ways to recreate our children.

Para este conjunto hice una diadema y un cinturón, combiné la diadema con una flor azul, con la tela que me sobró, queda precioso.
Terminando todos los accesorios solo me falta vestir a Elena y ver como le queda la ropa, me sentí como la niña que jugaba mucho con sus muñecas.
Con toda la emoción vestí a Barbie y se ve espléndida, los colores hacen un contraste perfecto con su piel.
Amigos, me encantó este proyecto, me divertí mucho, reviví momentos especiales e importantes de la vida, recordando mi infancia y pudiendo compartir con mi hija que ama a sus muñecas tanto como yo.
La verdad es que muchas veces necesitamos sacar a ese niño o niña, sentir la ilusión bonita e inocente que muchas veces olvidamos incluso con nuestros hijos.
Hay padres que prohíben a sus hijos jugar con sus juguetes y solo lo hacen porque no quieren ver los juguetes tirados
Esta forma de recreación en los niños está casi extinta, un niño que juega así con muñecas y juguetes no es normal para muchos, pero un teléfono si, y es necesario sí, pero no por vicios en los niños, creo que sería bueno rescatar esas viejas formas sanas de recrear a nuestros hijos.
