Torch Vizier Splinterlands Art Contest Week 293
Hi! How are you? I did it I finally finished it! I revise this portrait for how many times. I am never satisfied with the result, there are always miracles LOL.
I chose Torch Vizier because her hair is awesome and I like her vibe so much I am practicing how I do my lighting and I'm on my way to just a little research and tutorials.
Not doing digital for almost a year is like going back to start, but I am coping with it. So yeah I will do my best to explain my process of rendering my art.
The Process:
I got the pose reference from Pinterest
To make the rendering easier I applied a dark red gradient as the background and then I started rendering the skin.
I lower the opacity of the line art before I continue to render. Then I render the hair I do is add a base color of light yellow and start to layer it with orange as a shadow on the root of her hair as I get higher the lighter the hair is.
For the clothes, I added the highlights and shadow and I added shadow and highlights to the chain around her neck and bracelet. As for the sword I still need to think what fire style I am going to add.
The next process is I added flame behind her to emphasize more that her power is a fire I used a shape-fill brush and then I used a smudge tool to imitate the shape of the fire that is the same I do with the fire on her sword.
For the final step, I added another layer and set the blending mode to multiply and then I added dark red around the face and the body only after that did I add a transparency mask and paint the part where the fire light reflected.
