Lost or Wandering? | Cosmic Creations #7
I don't know if it's natural to feel lost at a certain stage in life. In my many years of existence, my experiences have taught me that the world is a crazy place to live in so I have to pull my self together or loose it. Even the smartest and the most intelligent around me don't know shit about this world, everyone is trying to live how they've learned to.
Maybe we're all just being too hard on ourselves.
In times like this, it's important to pause and take a deep breath because moments of stillness brings clarity. It can also be the best time to figure out what this life thing is all about. There's a lot we want to do but going out there can be scary, there's too much noise that can get one off track.
Filter out the noise and stop overthinking!
Is it possible to not overthink? Maybe, you can try to shut your mind down and reflect.
What truly makes you come alive?
Reflect on your passions. What makes you fully aware of yourself? What makes you smile? Explore your inner desires and maybe you will rediscover your path.
What is a life path? Is it really important to have one? I've met people who have zero interest in anything, no big goals or achievements, they just want to live everyday as it comes and die at some point, no pressure! Is that weird? I don't think so... To be honest, maybe it's the best way to live, maybe all that "discover your path" thing and taking life seriously is the reason why we feel pressure, overthink and loose ourselves.
Is it okay to feel lost?
Life has a way of leading us through bumpy paths and sometimes we find ourselves in strange territory that we end up feeling lost and that's okay I guess, life has its tricks and maybe not knowing your exact path is a gift in disguise.
Forget about societal expectations and do what feels good to you, do it until you get bored. Then again, are you really lost or wandering because not all who wander are lost, think about it..
Getting lost is just another way of saying 'going exploring.
This is a reflection of a part of me, I tried to convey and incorporate this into my work. Whenever you feel this way, embrace it, it's not a dead-end, it's a turning point.
For this challenge you will create a self portrait
I did the sketch and added flat colours to her skin, hair and dress, I faced a little challenge with her fingers but fixed it. I painted her facial features and really love how her eyes look which is part of the idea
I worked with mostly dark colours, the obvious bright colour is blue because when we feel blue, we experience melancholy and emotional distress which can be linked to feeling lost. Her hair didn't need much details and colour so I did little, I painted shadows and highlights to her skin and added more details to her dress.
.
I painted a dark cloud which signifies being in a bad situation, feeling lost makes one unhappy, gloomy and bothered.
I painted a simple background and that's all.
