Splinterlands Art Contest | Tarsa

Happy weekend everyone, It's that time of the week where I get to share my fanart for the splinterlands art contest. This time I chose to recreate a fire card, Tarsa and as simple as this card looks, I don't think I've ever recreated it...

This character is an innocent looking girl and her school uniform looking outfit makes it impossible for one to think she is more than just a girl. Since it's a fire card, I painted some fire which isn't one of my strong points 😤 I knew the kind of pose I wanted so I did a sketch, it wasn't a quick one but I finally got a clean one I could work with. I don't think I've ever painted this outfit style but it wasn't really a struggle for me. The first phase of this work was basically choosing and painting flat colours for everything and adding facial features.

Watching the work come to life with every step is one of my favourite part of the process. I added additional details and highlights where necessary, I struggled a little bit with detailing the outfit but I'm glad it worked out.

The final work came together nicely with all the fire, glow and little sparkles. I really love her hair which was my favourite part of the painting, hope you love it too...
