Hello hive community, hope you're all doing alright. It's Friday and the weekend starts in a few hours, I hope you have a wonderful one. It's another round of the splinterlands art contest and this is my submission post.
This isn't my first fanart for this card and I think I like this one more. This character has some of my favourite colours and I retained some of the colours in my own version. I also love the cat-like look he has even though I made mine human.
Sketching this was quite quick, the initial sketch had a different clothing style but I thought it didn't look alright for this type of pose so I did this one and I'm glad I made that change. I painted flat colours for everything, hair, clothes and skin, I then painted her facial features and used the eye colours on the original painting because I like it.
I started the rendering phase with her hood, I added more colours and shadows including the part that looks like an ear. I also painted some gold around the edges before going on to add details to other parts of her clothes. The wrapped part of the clothing was quite difficult to draw but I figured it out, I also painted the belt part and I didn't something different from the original work. The contrast looked off so I decided to add more details to the background to make the process easy on my eyes
Finally, I added some colourful texture to her clothes and top of her hood, I also added some shine and made sure everything looked alright.
