DYI Baseball Jacket /First try
Hi hivians and the Needleworkmonday community, i hope y'all had a blast weekend? And I wish you all the great days ahead that time had to offer.
What lure me today on Making this Blog ,was constituent by the Adventure I had a week ago,I was passing by ,and there was this boutique, they had all this Sublime Dresses, but what got my fixation there was an Baseball Jacket I sighted wore on a manikin 😃 it was quite eye catchy I must admit. I politely ask for the price tag which was written there but I was kinda oblivion .
Unfortunately the price was to High, it surpass my budget,
I stood there still ,clenching my teeth for a moment ,then this Idea just pop into my head , that got me tittering. I haul out my mobile phone from my back pocket and snap the baseball jacket in particular ,
But however as a typical Nigeria as people would say, I still caught myself haggling over the price of the Baseball jacket, if it could get any nether, they told me it can't get lower than this, before balling out I mumbled to myself "I'm a tailor after all",
I went straightforward to the market and get me a Blue and white Cotton Fabric, with a sticker, I bought three yard of the blue fabric which was for the bodies and one pair of the white fabric which I was going to use for the long sleeve .
Going through This process evoke me some memories During my Adolescent days
,When I was obsessed with fashion Designing, to the Extend I'd stole my Mom Ankara wrapper and keep it Hidden for a week or some , and make sure its forgotten before bringing it out, and deface on it, into the shape of a T-shirt then Cut it off and give it a Hand stitches ,
The day I was caught, is the D-day i got an Ass whooping from my mom, but I was grateful for the fact that she had to see it through my own Perspective, and recognised what passion truly is,
I was been sent out to learn the skill as a teenager ,and my passion for a unique sense of fashion kept growing in a short period of time, I work as an Apprentice for 4 years 😃 but them days are history now, cause I'm a Boss with a 5years Experience in this workspace, I took fashion Designing as a Career prospect, hoping to own one of the Biggest clothing Brand one day.
The Baseball jacket got few of my peers Engrossed that the Demand I sew something Akin to that for them,
Which got me an Engagement, Like sewing five pairs of it,and Distributed every first day of the week to boutique.
Although my lack of Complete equipment setup as a fashion designer makes it more retarded but Regardless i'd say it was a smooth process, as I will say all aspects lend itself to looking very best,
And What's more gratifying to me at this point of my life, is the ability for me to recreate styles or being able to envisioned a design that started as an indistinct thought, and brought it to fruition. #NeedleworkMonday
