A Happy Customer- Feathered Friends #SMaP Show Me A Photo Contest Round 213

The days are warming up and bringing some colour and action back to this ecological niche. The temperature is now hovering above ten degrees Celsius (33 F), and it was 19 the other day. Flowers are blooming. Geese are honking. And the crows raising a raucous. Perfect day for exploration.

The tide is very low when I see the seagull land on the beach. It has something in its beak. I reach into my bag and get the camera ready. It's hard to judge how close I should get without spooking it. So, I let it do its thing from a distance.

A crab?

The bird seems very excited as it turns the dead creature around in its beak and dips it into the gently lapping waves.

Where and how would a seagull get a crab that size, I wonder.

This is my entry to the #SMaP contest

No question about it, that seagull was a happy muncher that day. Just look at it strutting.

This post is in response to the Show Me A Photo Contest Round 213. I think that the last two shots are interesting, but I chose the one above as my entry because the focus is on the subjects themselves (seagull and crab) not the background- though that can be interesting as well.

I think you captured it just at the right moment!!!! And you also managed to get the camera close. They eat everything!

I usually see them eating human junk food, so it's great to see them eating organic food, sort of speak.

Oh, seagulls can eat anything and catch anything it seems. Great capture of the bird with the crab.

True! There are not many tourists right now, so the seagulls don't have their supply of French fries.

Thank you!
