Hello friends of the needles ! Delighted to say hello today, in the framework of the end of the year contest and this invitation to the retrospective that the community invites us. My chosen theme is the 3rd and a little of the 1st, some of my plans and projects for 2024 and some of the achievements.

¡Hola amigas de las agujas ! Encantada de saludar hoy, en el marco del concurso de fin de año y esta invitación a la retrospectiva que nos invita la comunidad. Mi temática elegida es la 3ra y un poco de la 1ra, algunos de mis planes y proyectos para el 2024 y algunos de los logros alcanzados.

To begin with, I introduce myself with my disciplines, I am Erika, I knit crochet and do sequin embroidery. Sewing is a world I always delve into and would like to delve into and within the three distinct tasks, each has a special goal.

Para comenzar, me presento con mis disciplinas, soy Erika, tejo crochet y hago bordados de lentejuelas. La costura es un mundo en el que indago siempre y en el que me gustaría adentrarme y dentro de las tres tareas distintas, cada una tiene una meta especial.

It could not be otherwise, in the field of knitting, besides always wanting wool or thread, what I find difficult to face are the projects, I tend to enter into self-doubt, doubts, I'm not sure when I choose colors, etc.. This is how I propose to launch a knitting store, or market them somehow, the ones I have and the ones I want to make, hats🧢👒🎩and bunnies🐰, since both have patterns that I like to follow and the bunnies can be customized to taste, in different colors or even combined. The hats no way, same thing and more!

No podía ser de otra manera, en el ámbito del tejido, además de siempre querer lanas o hilos, lo que me cuesta encarar son los proyectos, suelo entrar en desconfianza conmigo misma, en dudas, no estoy segura cuando elijo colores, etc. Así es como me propongo lanzar una tienda de tejidos, o comercializarlos de alguna manera, los que tengo y los que quiero hacer, gorros🧢👒🎩y conejos🐰, ya que ambos tienen patrones que me gustan seguir y los conejos pueden ser personalizados a gusto, de diferentes colores o incluso combinados. Los gorros ni hablar, lo mismo y más!

The goal is at least one per month knitted and made and then we will see how it is applicable to sales, but as for tasks, the ones described. 1 hat and 1 bunny per month, I will make a schedule and see how the collection goes up.

La meta es al menos uno por mes tejido y realizado y luego veremos como sea aplicable a las ventas, pero en cuanto a tareas, las descritas. 1 gorro y 1 conejo por mes, haré un cronograma e iré viendo qué tal sube la colección.

On the beads and sequins embroidery side I want to do a big, detailed, and meticulous job. One of those that take weeks or months and never seem to end. I haven't decided on the design, and I have almost all the materials, but I will surely consult and show you for it. In what I started again these works, I made between 8 and 10 new ones, a good amount to put on the suit.

Por el lado del bordado de mostacillas y lentejuelas quiero hacer un trabajo grande, detallado, y minucioso. De esos que llevan semanas o meses y parecen nunca acabar. No decido el diseño, y tengo casi todos los materiales, pero seguro les consultaré y mostraré para ello. En lo que empecé nuevamente estos trabajos, realicé entre 8 y 10 nuevos, una buena cantidad para poner en el traje.

Choosing the new design must be symbolic, that is, that it represents me and that the challenge is to finish it because I want it, and not because it is work or for someone. At the moment I only do these embroideries for myself, but I have been asked if I do not plan to sell them and maybe it is also a great job option, who knows?

Elegir el diseño nuevo debe ser simbólico, es decir, que me represente y que el desafío sea terminarlo porque lo quiero, y no porque es trabajo o para alguien. De momento solo hago estos bordados para mí, pero me han preguntado si no pienso venderlos y quizás sea también una gran opción laboral, quién sabe?

And in the matter of pseudo dressmaker, first I have to see how the suit I am cooking turns out, but the idea I have is to make another one, or design it and see if I can afford it. I want this job to be special, so the design has to be both unique and beautiful and then either make it (learn about tailoring at least) or find someone who knows how to do it and can pay for the work.

Y en materia de pseudo modista, primero tengo que ver cómo resulta el traje que estoy cocinando, pero la idea que tengo es ir haciendo otro, o diseñarlo y ver si puedo pagarlo. Este trabajo quiero que quede especial, asique el diseño debe ser tanto único como bonito y luego hacerlo (aprender de moldería al menos) o encontrar alguien que sepa hacerlo y poder pagar el trabajo.

I know I can do it, but lately I'm so busy with details and nerves to be on time, that I don't want to burden myself with arduous tasks and maybe see another November/December being late to the little things I wouldn't like, I'd rather know that I will be able to dedicate myself thoroughly to the tasks that fill me the most.

I want to learn to relax in these cases and enjoy myself, and although I love these challenges, I have to think a bit about sparing myself the stress and being realistic in cases like this.

Sé que puedo lograrlo, pero últimamente estoy con tantos detalles y nervios para llegar a tiempo, que no deseo cargarme de tareas arduas y quizás ver otro noviembre/diciembre llegando tarde a las cositas no me gustaría, prefiero saber que podré dedicarme minuciosamente a las tareas que más me llenan y apasionan.

Quiero aprender a relajarme en estos casos y disfrutar, y aunque me encantan estos desafíos, tengo que pensar un poco en ahorrarme el estrés y ser realista en casos como este.

And here I make the link with the proposed topic #1 : my achievements and goals reached in 2023. The suit is one of them, although I still don't finish it, I lost my fear of the sewing machine, I made a thousand mistakes, I sewed by hand and I achieved a trouser with the fringe arrangement I liked. I got punctured, I moved forward, I slowed down, everything. With this suit everything happened, but it was possible and I still have more than a month to finish it completely. I lost my fear of taking my own measurements, even without knowing where to use them, the necessary ones were written down on a piece of paper. Anyway, the world of needles and its underworlds, are branches full of inspiration, work and varied methodologies, and I feel that the year 2023 was super productive for me in this branch.

Y aquí hago la unión con el tema propuesto Nº1 : mis logros y objetivos alcanzados en el 2023. El traje es uno de ellos, aunque aún no lo termino, le perdí el miedo a la máquina de coser, me equivoqué mil veces, cosí a mano y logré un pantalón con la disposición de flecos que me gustaba. Me pinché, avancé, me retrasé, todo. Con este traje sucedió de todo, pero se pudo y aun me queda más de un mes para terminarlo por completo. Le perdí el miedo a tomar mis propias medidas, aún sin saber dónde usarlas, las necesarias estaban apuntadas en un papel. En fin, el mundo de las agujas y sus submundos, son ramas llenas de inspiración, de trabajo y metodologías variadas, y siento que el año 2023 fue super productivo para mi en esta rama.
