Hive Fest Day 6 - the rescheduled boat trip
I'm skipping a few days ahead of my Hivefest posts as we had such a great time today. On Day 4 we were supposed to go on a boat trip but the weather forecasted thunderstorms so it was rescheduled to Sunday on Day 6, which is today. Unfortunately some people couldn't make it as they had already scheduled to leave after the farewell drinks on Day 5. We still had a good turnout as quite a lot of people was staying on for a few more days.
I was a bit worried the sea might be choppy as the weather forecast said it might rain, but luckily it turned out fine. We could have done with a bit more sun, other than that all was good most of the time.
The boat had three levels, the top deck. It was so relaxing sitting on the deck chairs with the sea breeze blowing around me.
This is the main level
And this is the lower deck. It had some glass floor so we could see into the sea. There was supposed to be an undersea museum on the itinerary but it think maybe that was skipped due to the weather. Lot's of people had huddled down here at one point as it was getting quite windy upstairs.
We were cruising for about two hours and arrived at our destination. As we got off board, the crew was busy preparing our lunch. It smelt so nice, making me hungry already.
I had no idea where we going, I just followed the people in front of me.
It was just a couple minutes walk and suddenly I saw this beautiful bay in front of me. It was a public beach called Uvala Jelinak Veli, but it might as well been the HiveFest private beach as we had it all to ourselves. Some came well prepared and had already changed for a swim. The rest just lie around chilling out. It was so relaxing.
When lunch was ready the crew sounded the horn and we made the short walk back to the boat. We were served a choice of mackerel or chicken.
After lunch, we had about 45 minutes till we were due to leave. Some of us went for a stroll. It was so beautiful and I would have loved to walk further along the coast. Sadly we had to turn back, no one wanted to be left behind!!
The return journey also took about two hours and I had some interesting conversation with more people. Like @buttcoins from Guatemala and how their hotel survived under COVID, and @forkyishere from New Zealand, about he and his family moving from Portugal to New Zealand and the challenges they faced. Most of us travelled from Europe to Split, but they and many others came from much further. The Hive community must be doing something right for so many people to make such an effort to attend Hivefest.
As we were getting near back to Split, I noticed something moving on the mast. It was @growandbow and he had climbed all the way up. It looks scary but then he climbs tall structures for living so this is probably nothing to him, even though we're on a moving vessel.
Then I noticed he had company. It was Percy aka @thebombkids. I was chatting to Percy earlier on, and despite being 11 only, he's such a likeable kid. Not only that, the kid is fearless. He was moving around on the mast up and down, left and right and even hanging himself upside down. My heart was pounding just watching him but I guess some people are just natural at some things. Well done kiddo!
We got back to the city at 4pm, an hour earlier than scheduled. That worked out better for some as they were flying out in the evening. This is where the majority of us bid farewell to everyone else, knowing that we'd meet again in a year's time. Goodbye HF9, Bring on HF10!!
Congratulations, your post has been added to WorldMapPin! 🎉
Did you know you have your own profile map?
And every post has their own map too!
Want to have your post on the map too?
That ship was beautiful and the trip was a great success by the look of things.
Swinging off of the yard arms of a ship underway is a tad risky for a kid though. Mind you it's probably what I would have done when I was 11. 😂😂👍🏼
The kid is crazy fearless but he's very smart 🙃
Oh, what? So @growandbow is a real pirate!!
Not only pirate, Jack of all trades and master of all!!
Oi matey! Shiver me timber scallywags! 😁
Great that the boat ride happened, the adriatic sea and the islands near Split are awesome. Sounds like you all had a fun day! :) !BEER
The weather forecast is pretty unreliable and really messed up our plans meaning quite a lot of people missed it, but it was a great dsy out for those who went
Weather nowadays is like a coinflip, we can never be sure!

Wow was all this stuff included in the price or did you have to pay more for it? It really looks like they take food care of you there.
This was included! The organisers were great, there's always some event that takes us to see more of the city at HiveFest
Wow, that's crazy. I'm glad you got to experience that!
It seems a beautiful adventure for you guys out there... relaxing view, indeed...
It was absolutely gorgeous, and the sea water is so clean and clear
Youn't even knew people got to the master LOL 😆 - Definitely we need multiple recordings of everything, to re-live stuff. 😀
I'm sure we'll get to see more content about the day. I got back a early last night and wanted to share the day with everyone. Safe onward travels
Where are the pirate hats?
oooarrrrrghh
safe travels back to UK
Ahoy sailor!! Especially for you! And if you zoom in, you'll see one on lookout next to Percy
Now that is quality !!!
The grill photos !! I wish we see at HF10 again or earlier at some events 😉
The smell from the grill 😋
See you next week time!
Looks like a very great day…
Safe travels back home!
Off to Dubrovnik for a few days today before we head home 🙂
Nice, have fun!
Was certainly a nice cherry on top of the Hivefest cake getting to go out on that boat trip.
Was really nice chatting with you! The years go quick, when I went to my first Hivefest, Percy was just 4 years old.
Now he is climbing around on masts like a monkey. Giving his mom more great hairs. 🤣
I'm not his mom and he had my hair standing!! I can imagine how his mom feels all the time 😄
Hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Euros, I'm sure it will be an epic experience
It was impossible to join them. Olivia woke up late and we didn't make it in time but I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves. It was great to see you all.
Considering you had a 10 month old baby with you, you did well attending many events!
You are right! 🤗
It was a nice day out. I was glad I got to have a swim in the end. These are just such cool people to hang out with. Some of us were discussing whether we should get our own island and claim it for Hive!
See you next time.
how about this one? $50k in the Caribbean, Shall we get a DHF proposal together? lol

We get 100 bucks change as well!!
The boat seems beautiful, reminds me of a Pirate ship. The surrounding atmosphere is so beautiful. It would be really nice if the weather was sunny. The private beach idea is the best I would say...I must admit, this is one of the best Hivefest so far...
In terms of food, it definitely was the best I had compared to the other two dinners.
The only let down was the unpredictable weather which no one could control, will it or won't it rain? And that messed up the boat trip for many who had to leave
That's how it's done my friend, you are one of those who go all the way to the end of the party. The boat trip to the beach was a great finale!
You haven't seen the late night/ early morning parties the hard core crowd went to!! One guy had to catch an early morning flight and bumped into someone else coming out from the club at 5.30am 😆
Is that a pirate ship? It is unique and also beautiful. I love to know you guys are having fun. Keep safe everyone.
Thanks @intoy.bugoy, pretty sure everyone left HF very happy as we all do every year

I really like your shots! Good ones. And I'm not talking about the ones I'm on. But there are great too 😋🫶🏽
It was a pleasure hanging out with you.
Fantastic HiveFest which tightened my connections to all of you. Hive for the win.
Btw. Percy is an amazing kid! And I was his company up there.
At one point, while we where hanging around, he said to me "Hey! You are me in the future.".
I thought, "Wow, yes! You are me in the past!" we had great chats.
Your photo was very good, it really like it, I was lucky I captured it at the right moment. Thanks for that.
You guys looked so chilled out chatting up there, so surreal for us, or at least me watching. And you never know how much you may have inspired a kid from this little encounter
I wish we could stay until Sunday too, seems like you had a nice time at the cruise!
Safe travel back home @livinguktaiwan 🙂
It was great meeting you @illusivelf, at least we said goodbye at the restaurant even though I don't know you'd be leaving the next day. Hope you had a great time at Split and hope to see you again some time
It was great meeting you too! Yes I thought you would come at the billiard spot the next day but didn't see you there.Totally had a great time, hope I 'll make it to the next one, maybe see you there!
Definitely!
Btw, it would be great to see you posting again, you were writing great posts. We need more good quality content creators like yourself!
Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate that🙂
The truth is that I had a tough year with no actual free time for myself, but being at the HiveFest motivated me a lot to try find some time and become more active again, so I hope I can do that!
