🎵ANNOUNCEMENT: Verbal-d to join Vibes as judge.

We just want to make a quick announcement about Vibes and a change that will be permanent going forward.

As I have mentioned in the past, when I was starting Vibes, I would be giving up my spot as the Vibes judge as soon as we found a suitable replacement for me. I will be focusing more on behind the scenes work and promotion leaving the music judging to musicians. 😎
This will save me quite a bit of time and allow me to do the work I do best.

It took a few weeks to find someone that was as passionate about Vibes as me and Marica and the choice ended up being with one of the guys that were at the forefront of web3 music before anyone even knew to call it that. :)

But instead of me going on about him, Ill post a few words he wrote specifically for this announcement.

Introduction:

My musician name is @verbal-d, and the D stands for "Disciple". I write and perform positive, deep, meaningful and impactful original music through which I share my testimony, experience and the gospel of Jesus Christ

I am a husband and father of three children who are named Harmony, Cello and Symphony. Me and my wife met in gospel choir singing for the Lord in university and Music is truly a part of who I am. I've been a part of the Web3 and Web3 Music Community since 2016 when Hive was formerly known as Steemit, where I had the blessed opportunity to participate and win in the Steemit Open Mic Contest, through which I then became later on an official Judge. And now I have Thankfully won the Vibes contest as well, in week 2 and it is a pleasure to say that I will be a Curator and Official Judge, alongside Marica, of the Vibes Web3 Music Competition, which I know will be bigger, better and more expansive than what we have seen before.

Judging criteria:

A bit about me as a Judge, I look for various factors, like song originality, innovative creativity, tonality and deliverance, technical playing, live performance quality, consistency and constant passion, meaningful songs or songs that bring you a true feeling/emotion, level of instrumentation skills/composing, and overall effort in production/editing.

I look forward to all the future connections and entries that will be flowing into the Hive Community, especially with the promotion and growth of the Vibes Contest, and overall the increasing engagement, presence and activity of more new Hive Users who will join us through Ecency, not only for the Vibes Contest, but everything else that our Hive Community has to offer as a full Web 3 experience.

I am grateful and humble to be granted such responsibility once again and handle it with great care, fairness and musical competence. I don't wish you all good luck, I only wish you the Best of Skill, it is within you...

As a reminder for week 8... It ends on April 20th 10AM CET.

The community will be able to vote for the winners once again but we will be adjusting the vote % from the community to 1/3 instead of 1/2.
That means that with Marica and Verbal-d, the community will act as a third judge.

Yes it is a blessing to be added on to an opportunity like this once again, we will judge fairly, and based off ofnperformance and the above factors I have listen and the other criteria mentioned in previous posts by the Vibes Team's official statement releases on the judging system in place.

The community also has their swaying influence as a third judge, with 30% of the Winner Placement from the Community Vote on Discord.

Hmm, then now that madame butterfly is not a judge anymore and this above is your Judging criteria. I suspect that maybe I will also be encouraged to participate very soon in this contest with one of my very original and meaningful songs since it meets each and every one of the factors you have described.

And by the way @verbal-d, do you think that if I do it I will be able to accumulate at least half of the monetary rewards in upvotes that this post with the new announcement has accumulated?

Looking forward to your original songs. Entries are rewarded accordingly. If you performed at a high level of quality with a live performance and followed all the competition rules and even the theme, that is a good representation for the curators to reward you based on the value of your entry.

Great choice!!! Congratulations @verbal-d ! I just hope you still post your own music to HIVE for us to enjoy!! Going through the 300 entries as a judge must be incredibly hard work - I imagine the team of judges might want to grow and rotate weeks to take a break now and then!

During the peak of the Steemit Open Mic Days as an official judge, which was nearly 3 years exactly, I was going through up to 6-700 entries per week! No breather necessary, although I do appreciate your consideration

You are awesome, I am judging the entries with Marica like a Peregrine Falcon, ever heard of this bird? It is the only animal that holds the world records for Speed and Farthest Eye Sight. My favorite aerial animal.

Thank you very much, I plan to be a Vibes Judge forever :) My children maybe one day might perform music for you all, they are all talented. Each of them can play piano, Harmony specializes in arts and crafts, Cello specializes in breakdancing, he is so cool, and Symphony is an angelic singer and song composer. They all can sing really well. I am too blessed.

You can see a picture of all of my children in my last entry actually, if you didn't get a chance to see them, I presented them while rapping the first verse of a 5 verse 100 line song titled JUST TO LOVE; the lyrics are so deep, go check it out if you want to see them in the first 40 seconds or so. I appreciate your words, I am definitely a blessed father/papa/dad.

Yeah I do write my own songs, but most times it's the beat that's the problem. I don't know how to play any instruments so it's abit difficult for me ( working on getting a guitar soon😊).

Yes thank you Hope, maybe they will perform one day, lol, with my previous 3 years experience as an official judge from the Steemit Open Mic contest, they were able to onboard me sooner than later and provide them the much needed support for the other great things the Vibe team is currently developing. I am so glad to judge again.

So glad you approve of the judging criteria, it is well rounded to cover all aspects of any entry from any genre or style. :)
