Immortality Or Not!

Every living being is mortal being and therefore must depart from this earth one day, that is our fate. We all are on a journey and each day brings us closer to the end of it to the great beyond. Also life is a stage, each of us acting our own part so I wouldn't want to hinder other people coming behind me from acting theirs by being on the stage forever.

I do hear some people say that the world is a sweet place and that they won't spare anyone who will try to destroy it. Whenever I hear this I will start wondering exactly what is sweet about this world.
If it was within my power to chose between being born or not, I will opt for the later. Same way I will chose not to bring any innocent child to this wicked world, but that would be me going against God's command to increase, multiply, replenish and subdue the earth. But it seems like it is the earth that is subduing man now due to the earthquakes, erosions, draughts, volcanic eruptions that many nations are experiencing. It is really terrible.

I believe this wasn't the main plan of the creator of the world to have all these disasters ravage the earth. The earth is really sick and it is on this premise that I wish not to be here forever. I do not want to continue hearing and witnessing these disasters ravaging the earth. Who knows how much destruction will come in the near future.

Again who would even want to live in a world where wickedness, hatred, killings, wars, social unrest and other atrocities are on the increase. Everyday you hear bizarre stories of humans killing a fellow human everywhere - over the radio, TV, social media platforms etc. The love of money, riches, power, affluence are waxing stronger relegating the love of a fellow human to the background. Man has now become endangered specie because of his fellow man. It is heartbreaking.

How would I even want to be here forever when all my loved ones would have departed leaving only memories for me to hold on to. Even thinking about them will weigh me down and might lead to depression.
Now as one who is immortal, I will be the in the news always. People from across the world will want to come and see me. My place of abode will more or less be turned into a tourist site exposing me to risks, insecurity and lack of freedom. Who knows the government may even take charge since revenue will be coming in from such visits.

With the way technology is advancing and giving rise to robots, who knows if we won't have them invade the earth one day? What about aliens, don't you think they might do so too? That isn't what I would like to witness.

For now I am living in hope for a better life to come as Christ has promised me, that is the one I wish to live forever on his glory, not this present one. But if it pleases my creator to make me immortal now, who am I to decline. That would be a rare privilege to be able to live and see generations upon generations to come till the end of time.
