MINDFUL SPENDING

It's Christmas day, people!
A very merry Christmas to everyone. How's your day going? How did your day go? I hope that you're happy and having fun.

Christmas season is one that many people look forward to because of the cheer and merriment that the period is known for. I looked forward to it so much as a child because of the outfits and shoes(glasses and wristwatches as well) that my parents got me, also because we would always travel down to the village and it was joyous and even more fun to spend it with my cousins and relatives and also because we received lots of goodies and cash gifts from relatives. We always had a good time.

As an adult now, I still look forward to it with that much excitement as when I was younger. I just love the season.

Because of the merriment that this season is known for, many people spend so much more than they normally would at other times of the year. From traveling expenses to spending on getting new stuff, to spending on food and drinks and parties, some people could easily lose themselves and spend more than they planned to.

It's easy to want to catch so much fun and to get lost in all of the feverish activity that goes on and not know when one is going overboard. That is why it is important that we make plans cause there's life and expenses after the whole celebration. With the new year, there may be school bills, house rents, feeding, business boosts, and all of all those important bills to be sort.

As a kid, I saw my parents put pen to paper to plan out finances. Before we embarked on our holiday trip, my father would set aside money for our school fees, rent, and feeding for when we got back. Of course, they made sure we had just enough to enjoy the Christmas. But the keyword here is, 'they planned.'

It was easy for me to grow up and adopt the habit, too. I like to make the most of this period, and my plans are mapped out for how I hope to spend the holiday. There are lots of places to go, all of which require money. The only other thing that was important was making provisions for foodstuff and a few items for my family, and that one has already been sorted out.

Because I am very mindful of how and on what I spend, I have made out a budget that I am following religiously. I have a couple of projects at hand and so I can not afford to overspend and mismange funds. There's life and bills after this time, and I don't want to be stranded at any point because I made poor financial decisions. If there are any other things that require money that I did not plan for, I could always think through it and know how to attend to them. What's most important to me is that I don't do impulse and mindless spending. So budgeting and working around it is it for me.

I hope that this was interesting to read. Thank you for coming around.
