Things I see

Returning from a long day at the market or any other busy day elsewhere, reaching Tonimas Umule, Aba feels as if I'm halfway home. There's something to that place that makes me feel a little more calm and relaxed.

That is a central point for almost all street foods lol. Passing through that route is always tempting because you'd want to spend money on one or more of these foods.

The sight of sweet smelling foods are everywhere around there. From women roasting corn, to Apple sellers, and all kinds of fruits seller. One fruit I never miss to buy there are the oranges, orange is my best fruit, but the ones I see there...Gosh there are so beautiful , beta water dey inside the orange unlike the ones we see on the street.

The green apples in the fruit shops always catches my eye and attention, and almost irresistible but without money you must resist it lol 🤣. Just One Apple is N400 hmmm, I always put a straight face when I see this shining beautiful fruit, but one day I hope to buy it for myself.

Just beside the fruit sellers I see Aboki man selling delicious looking Suya, the most popular street food in Nigeria

Then there's the pork meat sellers...Oh the reddishness 😂. The pork meat part be say, when I get spare N100 or N200, I grab my toothpick and pick one or two there, very delicious with the sauce. I love pork meat!

Ok...and there's another corner where they sell fried Akara, yam, potato and plantain. The sight of the hot Akara there is very enticing and the taste is as delicious as it looks too. And the taste of the deeply fried yam can drive one crazy lol!

There are a lot of things I see on this spot. Yam is expensive...Yam is expensive but everyday I pass that Toninas people are lined up buying yams and there are millions of tubers of yam stacked in one place.

There are many Aboki (Hausa) people that have pitched their tents in this areas, there are thousands of them from the north selling stuffs.

Ok...I just like these ones that sells tiger nuts, date fruits and Kuli Kuli. This one is...when the household says you should buy something from the market, this is always the first option.

There are lot more I see at this Junction, from Hausa men selling jewelries to market women selling foodstuffs, to electronic shops around, the barbers shop and much more. All these make my walk more fun! I so much love my sense of sight!

Our human senses helps us enjoy life more, we can feel, smell, hear, taste and see the things around us. Our senses are a beautiful gift from God and I really appreciate that I have mine complete.

Thank you Hive naija for this interesting prompt. It was fun participating in the contest!

I love Nigerian street food. What am I saying? That is the only street food I have had the privilege of eating for now. This reminds me that I haven't had suya in a while. Adding it to my list of what to buy.

Nigeria, a nice country to be. You find this kind of market place everywhere. There is one at the junction of the road leading to my house. If you hold million and you are not careful, you would spend it all on street food. I love your survey and reportage.
