Merry Christmas community! Welcome to all of you to my post. Today I want to finally share my entry for this week's @splinterlands art contest. I've been working on this illustration for a few days now but I couldn't finish it before due to a problem with my PC. I've chosen the character Byzantine Kitty, this kitty seemed to me a good choice to represent her in my style, I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

¡Feliz Navidad comunidad! Sean todos ustedes bienvenidos a mi publicación. El día de hoy quiero compartir finalmente mi participación de esta semana para el concurso de arte de @splinterlands. Desde hace algunos días he venido trabajando en esta ilustración pero no había podido terminarla antes debido a un problema con mi PC. He elegido al personaje Byzantine Kitty, está gatita me pareció una buena opción para representarla en mi estilo. ¡Espero les guste y gracias por pasar por aquí!

To carry out this illustration I took some inspiration from this image, I started by making my sketch of the character, for this it was very helpful to use the line of action technique to better position the character and its limits. Once I had my base idea I cleaned up the lines to then draw a lineart, for this I used a dark purple colour and a textured brush.

Para llevar a cabo esta ilustración tome algo de inspiración con esta imagen, comencé realizando mi boceto del personaje, para ello me fue de mucha ayuda utilizar la técnica de línea de acción para posicionar mejor al personaje así como sus limites. Una vez tenia mi idea base fui limpiando las líneas para luego trazar un lineart, para este utilice un color morado oscuro y un pincel con textura.

Once I had the lineart ready I proceeded to apply a grey base mask all over the character. Then I started to apply all the base colours that this character and its elements would have. With the colours applied I worked little by little on the shadows, being these the ones that took me more time because I wanted to give the impression of fur on the character.

Una vez tenia el lineart listo procedí a aplicar una máscara base color gris por todo el personaje. Luego comencé a aplicar todos los colores base que tendría este personaje y sus elementos. Con los colores aplicados fui trabajando poco a poco en las sombras, siendo estas las que me quitaron algo mas de tiempo ya que quería dar la impresión de pelaje en el personaje.

With the shadows applied I made some adjustments to the colour of the shadows as I didn't like the tone I had used. After several tests in the end I decided for a violet tone which I think looks very good on the character. Finally I applied some small touches of light with white and made a gradient with green tones to work on a background for the illustration.

Con las sombras aplicadas hice algunos ajustes en el color de estas ya que no me gustaba el tono que había utilizado. Luego de varias pruebas al final me decidí por un tono algo violeta el cual creo que le queda muy bien al personaje. Por último aplique unos pequeños toques de luz con color blanco y realice un degradado con tonos verde para trabajar en un fondo para la ilustración.
