I started making my sketch of the character, in this step I made a simple pose without much detail, then I was cleaning the lines and adding the elements like the arc in blue colour to not get lost with the lines. Once I liked the sketch I went on to work in a new layer the lineart process, at this point I chose to use a fairly thin line to give more contrast in the contour lines.

Comencé realizando mi boceto del personaje, en este paso realice una pose sencilla sin mucho detalle, luego fui limpiando las líneas y agregando los elementos como el arco en color azul para no perderme con las líneas. Una vez me gusto el boceto pase a trabajar en una nueva capa el proceso del lineart, en este punto opte por utilizar una línea bastante delgada para dar mayor contraste en las líneas del contorno.

In a new layer I placed the base colours of the character, using the colours already established by the original reference. Then I started to add the flat shadows on the character to give volume, being of great help the eraser to give shape to some points of the stroke for a better finish.

En una nueva capa fui colocando los colores base del personaje, utilizando los colores ya establecidos por la referencia original. Después comencé a agregar las sombras planas en el personaje para dar volumen, siendo de gran ayuda el borrador para darle forma a algunas puntas del trazo para un mejor acabado.

With the shadows ready I applied some additional details to give a better finish like some soft shadows for more contrast, I also added some highlights to define the character a bit more. Finally I made a rectangle with a light colour to work on a small background in which I would use some gradients later.

Con las sombras listas pase a aplicar algunos detalles adicionales para dar un mejor acabado como algunas sombras suaves para mayor contraste, también agregue algunas iluminaciones para definir un poco mas al personaje. Por último realice un rectángulo con un color claro para trabajar en un pequeño fondo en el cual utilizaría algunos degradados posteriormente.
