I stumbled upon this contest a few days ago and I thought it would be nice to participate. I got to know about it late but I'm happy I took part in the challenge.

Having been an artist for a long time and with a certain knowledge using scribble style to draw and create human portraits and animals, I decided that this method would be most suitable for the contest and in order to show/teach those who would love to learn how to draw with this method using AutoDesk sketchbook application.

In this video, you will see how I started creating the model, the outline and the shading process as well as how I added colors. I love the look on her eyes and her Afro hairstyle that's why I chose this character.

Before you start the drawing, you will have to set up your paper size from the app.

Step 1:
Make an outline sketch of your model. I used 'dream brush' under 'brush set' for this one cause it is lighter. Ensure there is a resemblance before proceeding to the next step.

Step 2:
Start adding shades. I used 'paint tapered' brush and 'ink pen' for this one. You can feel the flow of my strokes in the video as it moves to build forms. Move from top left to down right. Her hairs were the focal point here.

Step 3:
Here, you can start working on the face and her cloth. Take time and enjoy the process.

Step 4:
At this stage, I applied 'medium tip marker' which is also under the brush set. This will help add more base and tones to it.

Step 5:
Thereafter, you can introduced colors. She's a blond lady so I chose about four closely related colors on her skin tone. You can also leave few areas blank for highlights.

Step 6:
This is the final stage where you make the finishing touches and add background to it. For me, I used ash color which made it not so dark but allowed. focus to be on the model.

Thank.
I hope you enjoyed it.
